A charity must turn over financial's because it's a non-profit organization that survives on donations > other peoples money. Money which should be used for that sole purpose.. So if I wanted to donate to said organization I could request their financial's to see how the money is being used...

Tax returns are a person's private matter. Unless you get caught doing something illegal such as, say, I dunno, using the charities funds to float your for profit corporation.
