Kinda stocked low right now. There's 8 in a 140 gallon right now. The new Voltan lion, a spiny puffer, purple tang, rainbow wrasse, maroon clown, a heniochus, a squirrel fish, and a blue-front trigger.

Yep... each of those arrays has the equivilent of a needle running through it that can inject a poison into an unsuspecting victim. Not fun to get poked with. They do fine in a tank if they are one of the last put in there and there aren't any fish that will fit in its mouth.

This lion isn't much bigger than that. It's better to start them smaller in a tank rather than larger. If they are smaller they grown up with the existing fish and they don't think of them as lunch.

Older pic of the tank itself..

PK,

Nice tank. I have a lion in my tank as well and I love it. Its actually gotten pretty big and doesn't mess with the other fish too much.

I had a Lion in a small salt tank, and the live food got the whole tank very sick. I had to use this thick red fluid medication, which the store clerk neglegted to tell me would kill my anenomes

anyway, after the tank was cured, my Tomato Clown started hanging out behind the spines of the Lion! It was pretty cool, and nobody I spoke with had ever heard of that before.

Lions are great, but make sure you have some kind of barrier handy when you clean the tank. They can be pretty fiesty.

Both this one and the one I had previously eat frozen food (krill and spirulina based stuff).

best not to use live food - at least safer for the tank
if I set up another tank, the fish will all be pretty tame - I'm done with groupers
