I still think America needs a system more like Australia's, where there is free health care for all.. but 60% of us still have some sort of insurance and health care is a mixture of private and government funded.

Everyone pays a 2% Medicare levy on their income over $27,000 per year.
Any private medical insurance you take out is fully deductible against that.

So for the VAST majority nothing changes except instead of paying extra tax, your claiming it back.

If you are paying for heath insurance you are paying a minimum of $100/week already... Obama care didnt even raise people's tax cost by 20%. Everyone with a brain knows that single payer will cost us less than 3rd party it will cost us less than what we pay now..

Also why isn't Trump worried about cost of his weekly golf trips? Why is he not worried about the 10 or 20 billion for his wall? The United States federal government already does healthcare in large numbers.

When I was in the military, everything was covered. Free of charge. No charges, no co-payments, no costs for medication. It didn't matter if you had the flu or a life changing operation.
