He wanted more money and a bigger presence on television . He got the latter for sure.

His drugs excuse is an opt-out of guilt to go to rehab. I hope he doesn’t get a lawyer who pleads for rehab and community service instead of jail. Hundreds of hours spent on this by police plus court time for the two innocent brothers

I don't see where they committed a crime. They got hired for an acting gig. Can't prove they knew it would be reported to the police as a crime. Note that the brothers said that Smullett said that the hoax had to be carried out by Jan. 29. He was probably trying to help Kamala Harris and Corey Booker with that dumb anti-lynching bill. I won't be surprised if those 2 are implicated in this. :1orglaugh

Of course They are totally innocent and did nothing wrong. They were just helping act out a scene.
