AdultKing 02-10-2019 08:08 AM

I think people will just move their servers outside of the EU.

One of the dumbest moves ever by any government as far as internet is concerned.. Great example of how the EU is a complete joke

All offline media and entertainment purveyors live with rules. They either abide by them or get prosecuted. Why is the Internet different?

We know how bad Internet companies are at self monitoring, often claiming it's too big to monitor. Try putting porn onto FB and see how much faster it comes down compared with violent videos.

So Governments have stepped in. It's easy to geo target traffic, use that to ban veiws from countries you don't comply with.

Congrats to the winners!

For these platforms their business model is getting someone else's creations for free to make a buck. Sorry but I've got no sympathy for them.

Mediamix 02-10-2019 01:11 PM

This is really scary stuff.. The internet as we know it is gone. :(

You trying to compare removing porn (or even violent media) to verifying every piece of media posted for copyright infringement?

Bruh...

Anyway, I wouldn't mind if these giant social harvesting networks kicked rocks and set traffic loose again. So no sympathy from me either.

I personal hate social media and think it's bad overall for society. Raising a whole generation of sociopaths that interact more with their phone via social media then with their parents or actual friends. So yeah.. That and the fact that if somehow FB died (especially FB) we might see a revival in many facets of the porn and quasi-porn websites.

Why shouldn't online companies do more to check their sites aren't used to infringe the law?

Don't come back with they're too big. Easy answer is they scale down.

FB amazes me, why are there so many self centred people posting useless shit only they care about?

AdultKing 02-11-2019 12:41 AM

18 years on this forum and he still doesn't know how to multi-quote.

babeterminal 02-11-2019 10:00 AM

this is a good move now the thieving social media companies can not claim your media as theirs just because you posted there

My wife only has to show me a few posts on her FB page and it just annoys the hell out me.

I don't, and never will understand the appeal...

no reason for the internet to get a free pass for piracy...if you can not afford to moderate your content then do not do it...not being financially able to comply with a law is no excuse for crime...sheeet I will just take these 100 lambos...fuck those dudes lambos should be free...

Where did I say they shouldn't do more? Infact I pretty much said I hope it breaks them trying it... In different terms.

My comment was to your retarded ass comparison of them being able to take down porn so easy so it should be easy for them to check the copyright of every fucking piece of media posted. There's auto detection for porn bro. Plus user moderation for the rest including violent videos.

2 different monsters.

Exactly!

It's bullshit that a big company can skirt the copyright law by saying they don't have the
resources to police their content.
They can do like the rest of us and only publish what we can manage.

AND!!! Youtube claims they can't monitor the content but they remove all porn.
