'Young and the Restless' star Kristoff St. John's death devastates fiancee
 

Actor Kristoff St. John is being mourned on social media, following the news of his death, which made news on Monday.

The "Young and the Restless" actor had played Genoa City's Neil Winters, the patriarch of the show's only black family, since 1991. St. John was pronounced dead at a home in Woodland Hills, California, on Sunday. He was 52.

St. John's fiancee, Kseniya Mikhaleva, grieved for her love on Instagram, sharing a photo of the two and all of the questions swirling in her mind. St. John revealed their engagement on Instagram in September.

Devastated me, too. The only soap opera I watch or tape since 1980ish. I remember him on The Cosby Show as David, Denise’s boyfriend in one episode .

He was one of the first black actors on Y&R and Shemar Moore played his brother. He portrayed a college-educated business person, not a druggie or thief. TV was beginning to put black actors to work in better roles.

The death of his son five years ago destroyed him. He was off the show for months in 2017 due to alcoholism and several months ago, too. He’s not been on for weeks and tomorrow is his last air date.
