I agree with you about letting the kid be a kid, but I've read studies where most of these kids pick this up from people around them or they see it on youtube and start acting it out. That depends. If I met them, I would make my argument to them that the kid should be allowed to grow up and decide on his own. There's no hate or racism or homophobia in my concern so it shouldn't be brought up as an argument. However if it was, then it would be important to remove that part of the argument in order to reach a resolution.
