Mostly interested in something that can prevent brute force attacks on the login page.

Anything good?

Actually it sounds like setting up http auth and requiring the user to enter a password before they can even access the login page will probably do the trick. Answered my own question I guess.

Activate Fail2ban on your server to stop brute force also.
