Baltimore airport forced to close terminal due to Trump's government shutdown
 

The first of many airports that will be forced to close terminals because TSA agents can't afford to come to work when you're not getting paid for a month.

TSA closes BWI airport, citing ‘excessive callouts’

The Transportation Security Authority said it had closed a security checkpoint at BWI Marshall Airport Saturday evening because of a shortages of screeners.

In a Twitter message sent Saturday evening the agency said it “will be exercising a contingency plan” at BWI “due to excessive callouts.”

TSA is responsible for security screening of airline passengers in the United States. TSA screeners are among the federal government employees required to work during the partial shutdown of the federal government. Reports have circulated about possible staffing shortages since the shutdown began.

In its message, TSA said one of its checkpoints at BWI would close at 5:30 p.m..

In recent weeks, passengers at New York’s JFK airport have reported hearing TSA agents blast explicit, uncensored versions of rap songs over the loudspeakers.

As Business Insider points out, “Sicko Mode” by Travis Scott and Drake has been prominently heard, as has “Lift Yourself”, the “musical poop joke” song from Kanye West. Other tracks from Beastie Boys and Ludacris have also apparently been in rotation.
