These 'Find A Discount Voucher' browser plugins...

Example: https://www.joinhoney.com/

So I shop around online and they provide me with a discount voucher for stuff Im gonna buy... OK, but what's in it for them? Is it just my data they want?

What's their business model?

They get an affiliate referral commission on the sale in many cases.

From their website:

In some cases, when you use a coupon code or earn Honey Gold with Honey, we earn a small commission from the merchant. We pass along some of those earnings to our members.

We never sell data or give your information to third parties, either. Please take the time to read our privacy policy. If you have additional questions, reach out to us directly.

So do you think it's worth installing it?

It's not like I have anything to hide and that explanation sounds reasonable enough...

EDIT: As long as it doesn't try to redirect or mess about with my browser though... I mean if I'm buying something at amazon via prime for say £40 with next day delivery, I don't want it taking me to the same thing for £45 with free delivery, just so they can make a commision...

I'm not sure the example you cited would be allowed under Amazon TOS for Associates BUT how can this be independently confirmed?

Personally I don't think it's worth handing over data to a business model like this for the small discounts you might get.

Edit: what I am saying is that there is nothing altruistic about these browser add ons or apps.
