Suggested banned words for the forum
 

I bet we could get gfy back on track if we banned the words trump, hillary, republican and democrat. Maybe some of the people that stopped posting here since this turned into a forum about US politics will come back?

Treat it just like any other banned word, replace it with ********* - and the political threads will vanish. Honestly, this shit has gone too far and is even costing gfy.com money. Would you buy ad space here at this point? I'm half surprised we don't have a DNC-sponsored theme yet with a banner at the top that says HILLARY 2020.

I’d love this. There are some of those who occasionally opine, and some who are full tilt. It really sucks. But lets face it. It’s page views on a board that is affiliate driven, but the affiliates took an exit some years ago

This is by far a far left board, in a far left industry, but for some reason the far left thinks they are under attack. That’s not my political opinion. It’s empirically demonstrable.

I think there's still people reading and interested in the forum. I also think that for one reason or another people have stopped asking questions they want answers to.

The troll is strong on GFY and newcomers are probably scared to ask questions for fear of being ridiculed for not knowing basic stuff.

The only dumb question is one that is not asked. With a bit more business and a lot less politics GFY probably still has some life left in it yet.

I suggest a shadowban feature. I think its a default Vbulletin option. Abusive posters that get shadowbanned can continue to read and write as much as they want, but the rest of us won't see what they post.

This would help curtail people logging on to their fake nicks when their main nicks get banned as it will take them awhile to notice that nobody is answering them.

DukeSkywalker only posts in political threads and threads bitching about GFY.

I asked him yesterday why he doesn't post in the business threads and he said something along the lines of him being busy.
