Dedicated Servers Comparable To This But Cheaper?

Looking at this plan currently for a new server I'll need.

$349.99

4 CPU Cores @ 3.1 GHz
32 GB memory
2 TB storage (RAID-1)^
Unmetered bandwidth
3 dedicated IPs
Free 1-year SSL certificate∞

--

Anyone know of any web hosts offering the same specs for a cheaper monthly price? SSL cert is a non issue so no big deal if its not included. Referral links welcome.

--

NOT interested in Digital ocean. WHM + Cpanel is preferred.

Sly 01-09-2019 10:03 AM

Are you 100% positive that's the server that you need?

I often find that clients have a rough idea what they want, but after a five-minute conversation I am able to place them on a server that either a) saves them money or b) gives them more bang for the same buck.

I'd be happy to discuss your needs with you and point you in the right direction. Feel free to shoot me a Skype at limpgringo.

Setting up a SoYouStart server is so simple, just select install in the control panel, install CPanel with a couple of very easy clicks and bang, you're good to go.

Sly is right you would probably be better off talking to someone about what you need rather than purchasing something that isn’t sized right. Also, if an unmetered plan is what you’re interested in because you are concerned to stay on budget but concerned with using too much bandwidth- you really need to research your web hosting options. Even though it’s 2018, there are still hosts that over-subscribe bandwidth where you can’t actually saturate your uplink. $350 per month is a healthy budget, especially for an unmanaged server. You can get everything you’re looking for at a good host- not just a cheap one. Please reach out to me, let’s build something awesome for you!

Sincerely,

Brad

Brad, you've been helping people a long time, I respect you for that but..

$350 per month for an unmanaged server is simply gouging. OVH has some of the biggest data centres on the planet with massive links and peering in place, far beyond most competitors. You can get an unmanaged, 4 core 8 thread server with 32GB of RAM, 250Mbps guaranteed unmetered bandwidth for under $50 a month at SoYouStart for a budget server and under $100 per month at OVH for more bleeding edge hardware with 500Mbps guaranteed bandwidth.

If someone is paying $350 per month for a typical unmanaged server they're paying too much. :2 cents:

I agree $350 a month back in 06 was a good deal but not so much now :2 cents:

If 350$ is too much for a UNMANAGED
What is a good pricing for a FULLY MANAGED server for specs like that
4 core 8 thread server with 32GB of RAM.... SSD

I have no idea what that is, but if you define managed as having the server set up, system kept up to date, backed up and kept up 24/7 then you would probably spend another $100 on average or so per month.

It's not something I know about. I have most of my servers at OVH and some at SoYouStart, I self manage, I don't need people to do stuff for me and if I do I pay for a network or sysadmin's time to help me.

I have more than 30 servers at OVH not including some at SoYouStart and some GPU servers I run a neural network on, I also have countless cloud instances scattered around the place for different purposes.

I very rarely need to intervene on a server. If something hardware related goes wrong OVH fix it seamlessly without me even knowing most of the time.

Amen to that. We switched to Mojo a couple years ago and things have been absolutely flawless. I recommend Brad and Mojo to everyone looking for hosting.
