No way! ?Zelda? voted best game ever.

THis list oughta be a good one... :1orglaugh

*********************************

LOS ANGELES, May 2 ? It has inspired legions of fans and generated hundreds of millions of dollars for its creators, and according to a panel of experts, the ?Legend of Zelda? video game series now ranks as the best of all time.
A PANEL OF WRITERS from Entertainment Weekly and gaming experts from G4, the cable TV games channel, have voted the ?Zelda? series, from Japan?s Nintendo Co. Ltd. to the top of a list of the best 100 video games ever.
The ?Zelda? series is a chronicle of heroic adventures in fantasy lands; the latest game, ?The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker,? features a character named Link who sails the seas searching for his sister and using a magic staff that can summon windstorms.
The list, which appears in the new Entertainment Weekly and will be broken down in a series of nightly specials the week of May 5 on G4, encompasses all genres of games and all systems, from classic arcade machines to today?s game consoles.
Second on the list was the 1993 PC game ?Doom,? from id Software, widely hailed as a revolution in PC gaming both for its graphics and its often-gory violence.
Rounding out the top five were the classic puzzle game ?Tetris,? the criminal adventure games ?Grand Theft Auto III? and ?Grand Theft Auto: Vice City? from Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. and ?Madden NFL 2003? from Electronic Arts Inc.
Nintendo and EA combined for 20 of the 100 entries on the list, which comes just days before the annual Electronic Entertainment Expo, or E3, the video game industry?s annual trade show in Los Angeles.

Not here.

I have never seen a video game in a bar.

Back home in New Orleans they have paying video poker macvhines, no Galaga.

Here in Cali, non paying titty showing Poker machines and pool tables, but no Centipede.

If you mean Restaurants, possibly, but not a bar. ;)

Fletch XXX 05-03-2003 03:02 PM

I loved the original zelda on the onld NES.

One of my best summers was 1988. Too young to get a real job, so my life consisted of drivers ed class in the mornings, and playing Zelda in the afternoon.

Ahh yes... good times.

Melody's by LAX is the one I'm referring to... right across the street from In N Out on sepulveda. Others... hmmm... The Casting Couch in the pass... if I remember correctly... argh, it's been a couple years since I hit the bars in your neck of the woods. They're out there, though...

Yep, one of my favorite Mexican restaurants has an old tabgle top Pacman.

Another restaurant I go to out in Pasadena has a table top Centipede, but its not just a bar its a family place.

The games are near the entrance. But its not a bar.

HungSolo 05-03-2003 03:10 PM

hehe... nothing like tosing back a pitcher and $5 of quaters on Galaga. LOL

If its some airport bar I dont know, maybe Im talking rock and roll bars, no real pub is gonna have video games dude.

think about it.

;)

I do see it alot, but like any good drunk, the names tend to blur, sometimes. LOL. Watch, soon, you'll pop into a bar and see a video game and be reminded of this thread. lol.

Damn, I loved Zelda almost as much as the Mario games, I was so damned happy to get one of the first 100 SNES's to come into this country, I was crazy about it. Funnily enough I brought it back out 2 weeks ago and now the kids are playing it and they think it's great, they play my old SNES over the GameCube and XBox lol

Pornwolf 05-03-2003 04:19 PM

The Legend Of Zelda on the NES almost caused me to fail quite a few tests in school! I loved that game! I beat it with no cheating.

xxxdesign-net 05-03-2003 04:59 PM

well, I quit palying video games after SegaGenesis, Snes... but Zelda 1 on nes was the best video game I ever played... plus after defeating the final boss... You got another new adventure/game

On the computer, the Monkey Island series was pretty good...

AdultNex 05-03-2003 05:01 PM

ChronoTrigger on NES was awesome.

Incredible game.

hottoddy 05-03-2003 05:11 PM

Every single Zelda game in the series (and there's been a lot) absolutely rock.

... but I know they don't appeal to certain l33t playstation boyz.

Zelda is tha bomb.

There has been only one game series I have been addicted to and that was the Zelda series. One of the best I have played is Zelda Link's awakening and Zelda a link to the past.

I'm even thinking of buying a gamecube now....
