How much does your host charge for SSL Plans

Per domain? If so what is the cost?

King Mark 01-05-2019 11:46 PM

Nothing. I use https://letsencrypt.org/

freecartoonporn 01-06-2019 12:35 AM

nothing, i use cloudflare but now i am panning to use letsencrypt for my new project becuase i noticed cloudflare rate limiting my connections.

Andreweb 01-06-2019 02:41 AM

My shared hostings are giving me free SSL and on my vps servers I am using letsencrypt!

CurrentlySober 01-06-2019 03:11 AM

Nuffin. I retain a small account for some personal legacy domains, and while I was truly not bothered about encryption, I got an email saying click here to encrypt them for free and so I did...

Host? Dreamhost, on an account I've had since 2003 with zero issues...

Klen 01-06-2019 03:12 AM

Nothing, i use name.com as domain register and they give commercial grade ssl for free.

Denny 01-06-2019 03:13 AM

Let's Encrypt is free.

247mg 01-06-2019 05:11 AM

We pay nothing! Free from the host

blackmonsters 01-06-2019 06:01 AM

I sell short SSL number.

Ferus 01-06-2019 06:37 AM

I use the free ssl througt Letsencrypt for a few of the sites, but use thesslstore.com for the high security, dv and application-signing that costs money.

geedub 01-06-2019 07:54 AM

ssls.com by namecheap has cheaper certs for like 5 and change per year or letsencrypt for free.

noctropolis 01-06-2019 08:06 AM

I'm using now flexible SSL from Cloudflare for free.

Tasty1 01-06-2019 08:52 AM

Our domainname registration company charged 4 or 5 euro. But are free now cause our hosting offered it for free since the beginning.

ianmoone332000 01-06-2019 08:59 AM

Mojohost recommended they do it free

TrafficRush 01-07-2019 08:35 AM

I use Comodo SSL it's like $5.99/yr ;)

AdultKing 01-07-2019 08:48 AM

If you run CPanel on a server license then Comodo SSL is free.

You can also add the LetsEncrypt plugin if you prefer to use that.

AutoSSL on CPanel works really well.

Are you sure? I think you have to enable this if you want it. https://www.cloudflare.com/rate-limiting/

Does SSL really make that much of a difference?

As I understood it, the point was to make it more transparent what the ownership of a site is, but the free ones are mass used and don't do that at all.

Yes, SSL is crucial and provides a ranking boost.

The free ones are DCV (Domain Control Validation) they confirm the owner's email address of the domain matches the domain's certificate and provide a secure browser to website connection for surfers.

Without SSL, everything you do is sent and received in plain text over networks.

Secure financial data communication (absolute must for transaction pages) and better SERP results, not a massive impact but anything helps.

:2 cents:

Thanks for the mention!

Yep - all SSL setup and renewals are free with MojoHost's managed hosting. Reach out and let's discuss if we're a good fit for you!

what you are saying is the paid service to limit scrapers from accessing your site using multiple requests,

and what i am saying is they throw error message to surfers becuase there are too many concurrent connections.

yes, i caught cloudflare do this 2 times with my sites/traffic.,

it throws, 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable

i created ticket and got this reply.

Quote:

Usually a 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable error message with "Cloudflare" in it means you are hitting a connection limit in a Cloudflare datacenter.

I have checked our error logs for the last 12 Hours and could not see any 503 errors being logged.

avg resposns time is 2 days and they tell you dont see it in their logs, utter bullshit.
i only use it for free ssl, but becuase of this issue , i am going to letsencrypt.

It's essential. Do it sooner rather than later. Last summer we helped all of our clients upgrade to SSL across the board. Was a very large project but well worth it. Google will be weighing it more and more in their search algorithms as time goes on.

CjTheFish 01-08-2019 09:07 AM

Let's Encrypt or Cloudflare is the way to go. Beats paying the industry standard of ~$50 per domain if you have a lot of sites.

j3rkules 01-08-2019 11:53 AM

Nothing, because I can easily add one myself from CloudFlare or LetsEncrypt for free.

adultchatpay 01-08-2019 03:54 PM

$0 from namecheap.

magneto664 01-08-2019 05:02 PM

If you don't have a basket on your site and you are not sell any good like a shop free ssl is ok. anyway even if you sell card processor have ssl anyway :)

PornDiscounts-V 01-08-2019 05:35 PM

Buy your own SSL and then give them the crap the registrar gives you. No added cost.
