Water found on Mars.. (really not the candy bar joke)
https://i.redd.it/06ozylnfmm521.jpg
This is from that new probe that was sent the esa or whatever its called.. Supposedly that crater is about 50 miles across.
This oblique perspective view was generated using a digital terrain model and Mars Express data gathered over orbits 18042 (captured on 4 April 2018), 5726, 5692, 5654, and 1412. The crater itself is centred at 165° E, 73° N on the martian surface. The image has aresolution of roughly 21 metres per pixel.
This image was created using data from the nadir and colour channels of the High Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC). The nadir channel is aligned perpendicular to the surface of Mars, as if looking straight down at the surface.
This is not a photograph, it's a computer-generated image based on topographic data gathered - this should be obvious based on the angle of the image.
Crater is 86km across.
The data was captured in April 2018 - and they only just added the color and smoothed the image to release to the public.
Parts of the image colored in white are guesstimates of which parts are ice.
