Black Friday Scams
I’ve been watching a winter jacket on Amazon. Price is $140 and the lowest price has been $109.
Today, email said an early Black Friday deal was available. The jacket is 90% off regular price. Offhand I think ten percent is fourteen bucks and I need to grab one. I find it on Amazon, color choice of wine red in 1X is there, so I put one in my cart. $14!! I’m psyched, thinking as a Prime member the shipping is free and I’ll have it on Wednesday. I find a credit card with room on it and go to Shipping. No choices. I read more to see the shipping — $49.99 — from New Jersey to Massachusetts via UPS Ground. W T F?? So my $140 coat isn’t $14 but is $63.99. A little less than half price but not ninety percent off. I emailed the company to question this misleading sale. Rhetoric about boxes, cost of employees to pick and pack, computer work, labeling, packaging, etc. I accused them of lying, overcharging, misrepresentation, misleading customers, scamming and more. No answer yet but I wonder if people really fall for this. I notified Amazon but no one else as technically they did nothing illegal. Immoral, yes, but I’d bet many folks throw it in their cart and don’t notice the shipping charge. I see WalMart or Target has a Black Friday special of a 48” tv for $159. In tiny print: three available per store. Most people overlook that and it’s only those that stand in line at 2 am for the 9 am opening that get one. When mobile I couldn’t see standing in line in the cold, rushing in, pushing people to get a big discount while someone tries to grab it from me. Every year people get arrested for trying to shove others away, grabbing things from carriages and fighting. Then you have the parking lot fuckwits who ram into your car for space or kick cars for parking too close to them. Saving money is nice but car repairs, hospital bills, lawyer and court costs, bail and arrests isn’t worth the savings. Remember how many moms got arrested because they fought others to get Cabbage Patch Dolls for their demanding kids? |
it´s annoying when people upload the shipping fees to cover their loss of discounts...
when I say 30% off, i mean 30% off for Black Friday monthly pass! Oh well, good luck with your coat :thumbsup |
This shit is slowly creeping in here i never see anything i want that's at a good price

So the old ebay trick has moved to Amazon? Sellers use to do this on ebay to avoid fees.. Ebay cut it out by applying fees to shipping.. Which means sellers now either have to pay the 10% out of pocket or markup the shipping to cover.
