Would you vote for Oprah for Prez in 2020?

The midterms showed Trump's weakness: suburban voters - these might be the SWEET SPOT for one specific DEM: OPRAH WINFREY

Uniter? Check
Cross-cultural appeal? Check
Embodies the American "rags to riches" Dream? Check
Oozes empathy and sensitivity? Check
Internationally known and respected figure? Check
Showbiz appeal? You bet!
Solid ties with liberal deep pockets? Are you kidding me?
Appeals to the HER TURN crowd? You can take this one to the bank, Kapitan.

She's the complete package. Her latest movie may have sucked ass at the box office but cinematic appeal is no proxy for electoral traction.

So what do you think? OPRAH 2020? Should LIBERALs/ MODERATES start a draft?

What do you think her platform would be?

Wonder if the DNC would go for a ticket of Hillary/Oprah?

Matt 26z 11-13-2018 01:27 AM

IMHO the odds of some kind of nationwide civil disturbance that delays the 2020 election are high if the Dems and mainstream media continue their current path of inspiring aggressive behavior from the left towards those on the right.

It's plausible. But only in the sense that it would be a publicity stunt for each one. Hillary knows she won't be getting the nomination with a field of candidates much larger than just the two opponents she has in 2016.

Plus, the DNC changed the "super delegate" rules so none of Hillary's potential opponents in the primary will get "THE BERNIE SANDERS TREATMENT."

NO. !!!

I am with Tulsi :thumbsup

I think we just had a similar post. Nope. She is just not qualified.

Yes but since Trump, Qualifications don't matter anymore.

beerptrol 11-13-2018 10:29 AM

if it were between her and Chump. Then yes, at least she is self made.(unlike the liar in chief who's daddy was funneling money to his infant son in order to avoid taxes)

She's a better human being too!

That's not saying much.

There was another thread that asked if I would vote for Avenatti. The answer is no. (Well, I would vote for ANYONE other than Trump, so if I had a choice between Avenatti and Trump.... Then I would vote for Avenatti.)

I mentioned this in the other thread.... I am in the local leadership class where we meet with various community leaders and government officials, and we are touring all of the city departments one at a time. I live in a town of about 45k people and it's staggering to see how big everything is.

Someone who runs for President needs some kind of experience. My ideal candidate would be former military who went to college to be an attorney (or studied finances, then state governor, then Congress. You need someone who understands the military, finance, the law, foreign policy, history..... And a lot of other things. Trump is not qualified. Avenatti is not qualified. Oprah is not qualified.

There is dirt on Oprah with harvey Weinstein. She would never run too much scrutiny.

It's time to play to win.

The Democrat "purity test" criteria helped slightly fracture the party in 2016, as did Bernie Sanders not falling in line after he lost.

Oprah has said she's not interested in running. You never know though she might change your mind.

A fair point, but I would still prefer someone with experience, from both parties.

Robbie 11-14-2018 10:03 AM

I think she could win. But after seeing what the left wing has done to Pres. Trump and anyone who is associated with him ..she would have to be thinking about all of her friends, family, associates, and business getting destroyed reciprocally by the right.

I think she would make a great head of the Executive branch of govt. for the same reason I think Trump is: She is a successful Executive

That is your version of "qualifications".
I look at what many of the previous Presidents (who were politicians...thus "qualified" by your standards) did to our country and people around the world

No. An actual EXECUTIVE as the Executive Branch of govt. makes Pres. Trump one of the most qualified Presidents in history.

And the achievements so far back up that statement.
And no, I'm not talking about what the biased media says about him every day. I'm talking facts and figures that are exceptional and have created a monster economy

Do you think the Repubs would do a number on her? The optics would definitely not be optimal.

I do.
If there's one thing we should all be seeing now...it's that the political party's will go as low as they have to to try and hold on or regain power.

Look at Trump. He was a media darling since the 1970's.

Now it's scary to even say his name in public...and you better not wear his MAGA hat for fear of getting attacked.

Now Trump was as beloved as Oprah is by any means.

But I would bet you that the RNC already has investigators compiling dossiers of dirt on Oprah from her past.

She would have to think long and hard about her empire, her loved ones, and her associates after seeing what the establishment has done to Pres. Trump

Robbie 11-15-2018 05:00 PM

My above post was supposed to say: "Not that Trump was as beloved as Oprah is by any means."

True.

Trump's always held himself out as a "tough dude from Queens" so all the drama doesn't seem to stick to him. Twice divorced, tons of local city innuendos re shady deals and mafia bullshit. He's lived through it and seems to relish it-NY STYLE.

The roasting he got from the media during the GOP primaries to today just seems to FEED HIM.

Totally different picture with OPRAH. Completely different brand positioning and you're right, if any of the long-held beliefs about her start to fall... well, she might have a lot more to lose than gain with a PREZ RUN

P_RABID 11-16-2018 01:16 AM

I wonder what ever happened to stedmann, hope those 2 lovebirds are still together

MakingItPay 11-16-2018 06:08 AM

If she runs for Single lesbian with no kids, in charge of telling heterosexual women with kids how to live, she has my vote.
