Las Vegas Adult Webmaster
Who here among us lives in Las Vegas? I am seriously considering moving there due to economics, content, and personal life. Is there a vibrant local adult webmaster community there?
|
I'm here but I'll be out in a few months. Vegas has become entirely old entirely too fast. Viva Las Tourists.
|
They all go out to dinner and orgies every Wednesday night!
|
I'm here but I'm over in Summerlin, no tourists here. I like it here, but I didnt move here for the city bullshit, I moved here for the desert. If I'm not at home working, I'm usualy out exploring a state park or somewhere in the desert.
check out these pics http://www.mrpheer.com/valleyoffire/ that place is just a few minutes east of vegas so much to do here beside gamble or go to clubs |

I live by Spring Mountain and Decatur vegas2003 you are only a few miles from me. :) |
I used to live in Summerlin, Charleston and Decatur.
I loved Vegas and as mentioned, there is much to do other than the strip. Someone goto Deja Vu for me and tell Sarah that Im not married anymore. |
I move out of there in '93... Loved it when I first moved there but I agree, it get's old fast.
But is was fun the first 6 months I lived there. Moved to Phoenix so I could still be close enough to visit when I wanted. |
Las Vegas...
Is that the city that never sleeps? I have corporate "presence" in vegas, icluding a local Las Vegas phone number.... but i live about 1,600 miles north. I wish you luck on your move! |
Mad Hatter and I are considering moving about an hour away. Small town, bigger lots, cheaper houses, but sill close enough to drive into Vegas easily. :)

Even the Hummer people admit that the H1 is far superior than the H2. How can it not be, the suspension is superior, the drive train and just about everything on that vehicle is. I quote Hummer (or at least their salespeople) " The H2 was created for the family and for people that did not want to pay the price tag of a real Hummer". You, were stating that the H2 was superior to the H1, again, personal opinion.... facts are facts. I really meant no offense, I do not know you so how could I know if what you were saying was true... people do a lot of bullshitting on this board. Sorry not trying to be an ass, hell all I have is a Jeep. Your H2 will put my Jeep to shame. I know that a Jeep cannot go or do everything the H2 can. Also, I just looked at the scenery... not the words. :thumbsup |
I had a 96 Hummer Turbo Diesel Wagon. It was fine around town, except for parking, and it rocked offroad. Although in east texas there wasnt much terrain to challenge it. It pretty much drives like a car, has a sharp turning radius and almost no roll tendacy.
Ok, now for rest of the story. The engine is loud, very loud. The turbo is loud. Between the rattle of the diesel engine and the whine of the turbo, you may as well take your stereo and toss it out the window. When it rains, its almost impossible to keep the windows from fogging up. The straight up & down windshield seems to be a magnet for rocks on the hiway and treelimbs offroad. Its top speed is about 75mph... the huge tires it has are not meant for 75mph on the interstate, the whole thing is constantly bouncing and adjusting the air pressure with the CTIS didnt really seem to make any difference. At the time, my other vehicle was a C5 vette. Vettes are great cars, but cant fit the family in it, it cant carry much, and of course you dont take a vette offroad. I was stuck going from one extreme to the other, so I traded the hummer straight up even for a brand new fully loaded chevy avalanche. Avalanche is a great vehicle, I kept it for 6 months till the H2 came out, traded it in on my H2. As for my experiance with the H1 vs H2: The H2 will do almost everything offroad that the H1 will. Almost. You give up some ground clearance and approach angles, but most likely you wouldnt notice it anyway, unless you were really in some extreme shit. The H2 gets terrible gas mileage, I average 10.5 mile per gallon. I averaged 13 miles per gallon in the H1. The H2 (mine is fully loaded, everything except for sunroof) has an awesome sound system, you barely hear the engine, its very comfortable inside with heated leather seats, and automatic climate control. I dont know its top speed, but I've had it up to 90mph on the interstate and it still rode just as smooth as 45mph. You do get some wind noise starting at around 65mph but its not bad. And of course the H2 has all the neat GM shit like onstar, 6 disc cd changer, seperate rear sound system for the back passengers and all that other cool stuff. It has amazing traction control when offroad, you just push a button on the dash to fit your situation, and dont worry about it. It handles better than any other SUV I've driven.. you just drive it like a car. It has huge sway bars and the body barely leans when taking sharp turns. There isnt much offroad that the H1 will do that the H2 cant. The H2 has very nice onroad manners that the H1 doesnt have, you can use it as a daily driver with no problems. I wouldnt suggest an H1 as a daily driver unless you lived far from civilization, and had some other vehicle for getting to civilization. And the cost isnt an issue in my opinion, I bought my H1 used for $45k, and I have about $60k in my H2... I added some accessories, and a 10.5 inch drop down LCD and dvd player |

I really liked how you could inflate and deflate the tires while driving... that alone sold me :) Does the H2 do that too? I live on the edge of Phoenix out in Surprise... Nothing but open desert and mountains. I love to off road and would KILL for an H1. The one I test drove (2003) was $117,000 and some change vs the H2 which was 56,000 nicely equiped. I liked the industrial strenght suspension on the H1... looks indestructible vs the suspension on the H2. Plus, and again a personal opinion, I like the looks a bit better. :) Looks meaner. If I didn't piss you off too much (never meant to) ICQ me or drop me an email, I get up to vegas every so often, maybe we can get together and do some off roading. (if you want). Would be nice to see the H2 in action. Or if you were ever down this way I could take you on some really cool trails. The H1 I test drove was the same color as yours.... I like that color on those vehicles... good choice :thumbsup Well, back to work... working on a couple of comps for a friend of yours up in Portland (in think that is what he said). Anyway.. take care and again.. no offense meant, just did not know if you were serious or not. Talk to you later. |
Wow lots of vegas people here. I live in Henderson in the 7 hills area off Eastern. I'm not sure how i ended up here at GFY but the people seem interesting.
