Russia’s only aircraft carrier damaged as its floating dry dock sinks
This is how we do it! :1orglaugh
5 meter gash and sunken dock. The largest floating dock in the world. This is how to cover your tracks when you claim to make repairs, never do any and still get away with money. This is real life, not promotional cartoons propaganda. https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/...395&mode=quote |
you had me at "russia's only aircraft carrier..."!

Is this the smokey one?

Oh shit what was I thinking they only had one...
This will surely ruin Putins attempt to take over the world. 321... before Putin blames the US for sinking their dock.. lol |
They talked about this on the radio today and said it might be serious trouble for Russia's navy. They said the sinking of a dry dock barge in and of its self isnt a major issue..
However Russia has many vessels in need of repair due to years of neglect and due to the fact this dry dock barge was in such bad shape it sunk due to a power failure that their other dry docks could be in worse condition. Added to this the aircraft carrier now has a big hole in the flight deck, which means it likely needs to go back into dry dock.. but oops it sank.. Meaning it will likely be out of commission for some time, unless they just throw some plywood across the hole.... Putin and Republicans are one in the same.. They love to spend money on new shiny things, but neglect the infrastructure that keeps them afloat.. quite literally in the case.. |
This is a huge issue for Russia. They only have one aircraft carrier, and it was barely running as it was. It was badly in need of a complete overhaul. The loss of the floating dry dock is a huge issue too.
Also, keep in mind the Russians always underestimate damage to their ships when such incidents happen, so the damage is most likely ten times worse. |
I can only imagine how difficult it would be to maintain pride while serving in that Navy
