67 million Americans do not speak English at home
 

Newly released Census Bureau data for 2017 shows nearly half (48.2 percent) of residents in America's five largest cities now speak a language other than English at home. Overall, the number of U.S. residents speaking a foreign language at home reached a record of nearly 67 million. The total number is up seven million since 2010 and has increased by nearly 35 million since 1990.

We are a nation of immigrants. My grand mother used to speak Polish at home when I was a kid, and my step father spoke French as much as he did English.

And 250 Million Americans can't speak a single word of the native languages.

I got it now, mostly. Simple has a few different interpretations when it comes to describing people.

So it's acceptable if they come from Europe and speak only French or Polish, but not if they speak Spanish.

The rest of the United States is in for a big surprise. California, Arizona, Texas.... We've already lost this battle. When we go to grab fast food (which is rare for me these days) the employees are more likely to speak Spanish than English. (You haven't lived until you tried to order through the drive at Panda Express when the other person speaks Spanish.)

The US should be more OPEN to IMMIGRATION not more restrictive
