Silicon Valley’s elite are preparing for Armageddon by buying up property in New Zealand.

Seven tech billionaires have so far made apocalyptic investments in the commonwealth country in case they need to flee California.

Fear of nuclear war, violent revolution and pandemics have seen San Francisco’s finest start commissioning multimillion-dollar underground bunkers in New Zealand.

Made by Texas-based bunker manufacturer Rising S Company, the 150-ton bunkers are buried 13 feet underground.

The company’s general manager describes New Zealand as the ideal location to ride out the apocalypse.

When people retreat to the safety of their underground bunkers, are they going to take all the heavy construction equipment down there with them too? Or leave it on the surface?

So, what's to prevent anyone from just digging those bunkers right the fuck up out of the ground? Bunkers are going to be stocked full of supplies that desperate people are going to be wanting.

Or if someone's feeling particularly mean, and decides they don't need what you have in storage, or decides people like you are to blame for the SHTF situation they're now in...what's to prevent anyone from just parking a tread of a 140-ton monster on top of the bunker's exit door, and leaving it there? Good luck getting that door open!

This has been happening since the late 90's

There is always rich people expecting apocalypse , there is even some which spend their entire money to build bunker. But it's a stupid idea, even if something like that would come, it would be enough to move to other country, no need for bunker.

Friend of mine worked on Thiel's place, he's got a whole commune going on there.

The thing is if there's an apocalypse, and your a yank with a fist full of cash arriving in NZ, your automatically at the back of the cue, no one really gives a fuck about your money, they'll take it, but your just a piece of shit so back of the cue for you, money is not god there.

I would think Tasmania would be better. but again, i don't even see how you're going to get there from cali after a cataclysmic event. you'd have to have a jet on stand-by at all times that is ready to fly non-stop ~10,000 miles.
