Its all a matter of perspective. Technically, all forms of marketing are a bit "scammy". Marketing is essentially telling a story to your customer so they'll buy your product. Human nature makes it that you have to lie to make things interesting, otherwise it wouldn't work.

Biological, GMO free, Source Water, ethically made, etc etc etc are mostly just marketing terms to make people feel better about buying the same shit they used to buy but at a higher price.
