Cohen was given copies of these documents once the FBI compiled them. Here is my hunch.. Cohen, knew he was fucked and has made a deal with Muller to flip in order to get a better deal for himself. He probably made this deal a week or two ago. Soon as he knew he was fucked..

Muller's team as part of that agreement had Cohen leak these documents to buzzfeed in order to get a reaction out of Trump. It's pretty standard stuff that the FBI or SC would do in a case like this.

The POTUS is under investigation for obstruction of justice not just the Russia stuff. Leaking non essential stuff to the press in order to gauge a target of a investigation's reaction would be pretty standard tactic..

Regardless, the FBI/SC can leak things to the press in a active investigation if it fills a need to pressure someone. It's also a very standard tactic and not illegal or against the law. I see as they move in closer and closer to Trump we will see more leaks like this to push Trump into a corner so they can see what he does. It's very typical tactic in major cases like these and letting Trump know his personal lawyer has flipped with out actually stating it officially will make Trump nuts with speculation.

Weinsheimer will replace Scott Schools, who is leaving on July 6th to take a position in the private sector after close to two decades of service in the Department of Justice.

“Scott Schools has been a fabulous lawyer for the Department of Justice for close to twenty years, rising through the ranks at the Department to become our most senior career attorney,” said Attorney General Sessions. “He has served with distinction in several positions in the Department, including as an Assistant U.S. Attorney, the U.S. Attorney for South Carolina and the Northern District of California, and as an Associate Deputy Attorney General. Scott has provided invaluable leadership and counsel in his years at the Department, and his service is an example to all. He will be greatly missed, and I wish him the best in his future endeavors.”

Weinsheimer has been at the Department of Justice for 27 years, having been appointed as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in DC in 1991, where he held that position for 20 years. At the United States Attorney’s Office, he tried dozens of cases, including homicides, drug and violent crime conspiracies, and public corruption and bank fraud cases. He held numerous supervisory positions, including twice serving as the Chief of the Superior Court Division.

From June 2011 until March 2016, he served as the Deputy Counsel in Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR), and since March 2016 have worked in the National Security Division, where he has served as the Chief of Staff and Director of Risk Management and Senior Counsel, his current position.

Schools was the main mole in the DOJ.. He was hired by Sally Yates right before 2016 election. His main role / job description was DOJ "ethics" advisor.. He's the one who advised Sessions to recuse himself and apparently told Rosenstein not to do so even though he has his own conflicts.. He's also the one who suggested Mueller as Special Counsel and as shown in the document above actually appointed him. And then ends up managing him..
