This is how propaganda works

No fantasies, no blatant bullshit stories, but subtle spins in headlines to influence the reader to push their opinion towards a particular narrative.

MindWaste 07-02-2018 07:07 AM

Hitlar had it right..

Boozer 07-02-2018 07:19 AM

Reddit is a prime example.

The vast majority of commenters will not even read the actual article but will still form an opinion based solely on the title.

Those are 2 different editions. One early, one late. Not different markets.

They reflect a changing story. The early edition reflects Trump meeting with the Mexican President and the later edition after Trump did a speech on the same day reasserting his stance on immigration and the wall.

That is the way real newspapers work, they report the story as it is at the time the edition comes out.

.

sarettah 07-02-2018 07:53 AM

In this image which is a bit clearer you can see that the lead for the story has also changed:

http://www.madspiders.com/images/wsj_papers.jpg

With the early edition (on left) saying "GOP nominee tells Mexican leader NAFTA can be improved, wall payment is disputed."

And the Late edition (on right) saying: "GOP nominee doubles down after Mexican leader says his country won't pay for barrier."

.

Hi Nico,

You need to do a little more research before you share a meme. Like Sarettah said, the one on the right is an early edition of the same paper. The person who made the meme is either just stupid, or he's trying to lie to you, or both. No need to help him.

nico-t 07-02-2018 08:20 AM

I have never heard of a newspaper releasing 2 editions a day.
It doesn't change my message of how propaganda works though. Many people believe 'propaganda' equals 'fantasy' - however, mostly the stories are true, but the propaganda lies in HOW they tell you something.

BTW i wouldn't call the the Wall Street Journal a 'real newspaper', they're notorious for spreading propaganda - their reporting is extremely biased just like all big news corporations.

XMaster 07-02-2018 08:30 AM

Please do some fact checking before posting thise kind of thread. Don't you see that YOU play the game of a propaganda without your knowledge by RT this kind of "info" ??

fact checking about this :

How common is it for newspapers to print multiple editions in a single day (eg. the late edition)?

The bigger the paper, the more likely it is to happen. Plenty of metropolitan dailies do this — as far as I know, that’s still the norm for metro dailies, though a lot of them put out just a single edition on major holidays.
https://people.howstuffworks.com/newspaper6.htm

Quote:

Large newspapers may publish multiple editions per day, all of which must be ready to leave the newspaper plant at a certain time.

The first edition, sometimes called the bulldog edition, goes to the outer limits of the newspaper's circulation area. This may be several counties or even an entire state.

Later editions contain progressively fresher news and go to smaller areas.

The final edition, which goes to press after midnight, contains the latest news but covers the smallest geographical area, usually a city.

Where i live newspapers are printed in 1 go. I have not studied the printing processes for newspapers in all the countries around the world so thank you for clarifying.
Anyway, this wasn't the point of this thread :2 cents:

That's because you don't live in America. Educate yourself on the American press.

New papers/TV news, just people trying to get ad sales.

Nico-T, the alt-right Polish aristocrat living in the Netherlands, wants you to trust HIS news slanted sources, not the news sources you choose.

He wants you to think that news stories don't change, and new information is not learned, like state news in dictatorships. Dictatorships like North Korea & Turkey, give you their unchanging propoganda.

Beware people telling you to trust only them :evil-laug

TheSquealer 07-02-2018 10:06 AM

What i learned about propaganda in Russia is that you don't need to lie at all to really sway the masses.

there were two things;

1) More powerful than a great lie is just choosing which parts of the truth you want to emphasize and talk about. When people can look and say "oh, thats a thing" with respect to whats being talked about, it becomes much more powerful.

2) Every single person in Russia would tell you "you can't believe the news"... but when they're told what they WANT to hear,, it is quickly accepted as fact.

The premise of the meme you posted was that the paper had been delivered to 2 different places with different headlines based on the political party that was predominant in each area.

That was false, the headlines are based on different editions based on the news that was available at the time that the paper was published. This is exactly how major papers have worked for a long time.

Your argument of "This is how propaganda works" died as soon as your premise was proven false.

This is not how propaganda works, this is how newspapers work.

It's kind of ironic that Nico-T tried to make a point about propaganda while unwittingly making a thread which is basically propaganda.

Using the term "unwitting" to describe him infers he has some level of wit, but that would be an insult to other morons.

Yes, the meme he posted is propaganda and that is how propaganda works. People accepting an unsupported premise.

His Russian propoganda that American newspapers give different stories to different regions, failed.

This is actually the first time ever in your posting history you've posted something clever, as opposed to your usual incredibly retarded posts :1orglaugh

This topic shows how easily red hats fall for propaganda.. Rather than take time to investigate what they are outraged about, they just post a meme created by someone else who has a agenda..

Congrats Nico-t you were fooled by propaganda.. The sad part is you wont figure that out despite it being pointed out to you. You will continue on believing what you posted.

You were proven wrong, but instead of owning up to it, you now go into distraction mode. Yet you wonder why no one takes you red hats seriously.. The worst part about this whole thing, is this had already been fact checked you been willing to look prior to going from outraged to re-post mode, while completely ignoring "verify mode"...
