(CNN)Basketball superstar LeBron James has signed a four-year, $154 million deal to join the Los Angeles Lakers, his agency, Klutch Sports Group, announced Sunday night.

James did not pick up his option Friday with the Cleveland Cavaliers, the team he led to its fourth straight NBA finals this year, only to be swept by the Golden State Warriors in four games.

Some had expected the move to Los Angeles, where the Ohio native owns two homes. The announcement came on the first day of free agency.

James, 33, is a four-time NBA Most Valuable Player and arguably the league's most dominant player.

Lebron is the best overall player ever. He can play every position. He doesn't have Jordan's killer mentality.

Los Angles is limelight. He is approaching the late stage of his career, business wise, it's a good decision going to Hollywood.
He will be making another $200-300M on side projects, endorsements, etc.

He has 3 rings, 4 season MVPs, 8 straight Finals, what more can you ask?
This season he is about to break and surpass multiple NBA Records in points, assist, minutes played, FG's Made, steals, etc.. virtually every category.

He is a strong candidate for GOAT when it's all said and done.
