OK, I'll bite. What are the actual benefits of me using an American Express card, over my normal banks debit card? I dont travel so dont need air miles and I dont need credit cause I have plenty of cash in my account.

Why should I get one?

rofl :1orglaugh

youve clearly never had an amex....

BaldBastard 06-21-2018 08:57 AM

I had a black card for about 10 years, dropped it when they increased the fee here to 7500 a year, simply cos I figured 7500 was a holiday I was missing. My citi bank card is actually cooler cos that has a 150k limit on it, where as amex is just a month to month thing. Its very cool when you get that box with "All those rumours are true" on the top, wifey still uses it as a jewellery box.

Well not sure how it works in your country, but here in the US if jerk offs get ahold of your bank ATM card numbers they can get money from your bank account which might be hard to get back. Meanwhile with a credit card you can dispute the charges.

I had some crook get a hold of my bank card numbers and wired $1,5k via western union. The dumb fuck then got greedy and tried to do it again and the bank then saw it as suspicious and reversed both charges right away. Had the crook not been greedy he would have gotten $1,5k. Had it been a CC I'd have a bit of ability to fight it..

Huh? My wife had her bag stolen in Paris, one call to Amex and they had everything taken care of and a new card in our possession like 4 hours later delivered to the hotel, included a free dinner and wine at some swanky place at the Eifel tower, Black card means personal concierge direct call number world wide.

Just another pornographer drunk on money... When we first got it I think we were spending about 35k a month on Amex so got on because of that when they first released them here in Aus, it started at like 1800 a year then went to 2600 then popped 7500 and even that was a deal supposed to be 5k each, personal and company.

Its a great card if you do a LOT of travel, otherwise.. stick to gold, save the fee, have a nice holiday.

bloggerz 06-21-2018 09:21 AM

honestly, AMEX is only worth it if you travel a lot but for everyday spending, it's worthless. Chase has better options for that

Yes I have. I had to go into the bank to verify ID before getting it too. Amex sucks now just like Chase sucks now, but go ahead and act like a baller and brag, not my style. No shade , I like your style, enjoy! :thumbsup

I will say Chase is great when I go into my branch down the street on PCH A+ quality customer service, but over the phone sucks Phillipines

Thanks. Its not that bad in the UK - Banks are very open to refunding money if you are a victim of card theft - But if they were not, then it would certainly be worth it :)

There is more to his story; BofA never hassles me over fraud. If anything, they are over-protective.

GAMEFINEST 06-21-2018 12:59 PM

I prefer chase venture all day

I'ts simple, I used my card at a restaurant and the next day I had a $1,5 charge then a 2nd one and then both were reversed on my online statement. I called up and asked what it was and was told they the 1st one was originally approved but after the 2nd they flagged it as suspicious then reversed both.

BoA never even notified me at the time, I caught it myself on my online statement. I made a police report and canceled that card. Cops didn't do shit because was a out of state transaction.. Had they not been greedy I would have had to prove it was a fraudulent charge to get reimbursed.

So tell us baddog what else is there to my story? Also apparently from your statement you have lots of fraud issues. Care to tell us why?

vip cards

brassmonkey 12-30-2018 08:03 AM

in other news... panda lost his card... will get another in 2020! thanx trump!

Dead 12-31-2018 05:22 AM

Mine came in an envelope :disgust
As others stated, if you do a lot of plane travel, the airport lounges well make up for the fees. As such, I only pay for Delta Comfort when I fly....around $45.00 per flight, the base plane ticket is all Delta Miles :thumbsup And the fraud protection for business cards are unbeatable.

seeandsee 12-31-2018 05:43 AM

how much cost to have one?

Dead 12-31-2018 02:12 PM

I only pay $450.00 for the one card, hell I can drink that in free drinks with 4 flights, eat for free at most big airports, just tips to the bartenders;) All the others for employees are free with the gold card.... Still Way worth it in the long run....member since 04. Some may notice that AMEX is also offering roll over on some purchases but the interest rate is a killer!

brassmonkey 12-31-2018 10:31 PM

they don't fuck around... if i spend something they want it the following month. i mean if i sent $800 they want $800 the next month

Fat Panda 01-17-2019 07:58 AM

are da Romanian cards still in motion?
