New Virginia Spam Law - Post Conviction
Ok let me see if I got this one right:
An Evening in Cell Block G in Oz Big guy walks up to little guy in Cellblock G and says, "yo man I am in this mother f-cker for murder...I am in for life...what the f-ck is your story biatch?" Little guy says, "um well sir I am in for propogating large quantities of what was deemed to be unsolicited commercial e-mail." My question is what happens to you after the confused look on his face is gone...wait dont answer that. http://www.cnn.com/2003/TECH/interne....ap/index.html I stand firm that we should have anti-spam laws but two things need to happen in my mind to make this viable: 1) Define SPAM. I believe that spoofed headers and no remove with text or html clearly advertising a service or good is spam. 2) Legislation must come from the Federal level and not the state level. Under the current federal snail mail laws, you can list yourself on the do not send list. States have not made such lists making it virtually impossible to determine what is what over an open source platform such as the Internet. This state law is nothing more than vigilanty law with politically correct justice. I am not condoning spam...I am opposed to wild west tactics to a white collar issue where the perpetrators are actually the ISP's themselves. Ok hit it. |
people will just move their colo's offshore or overseas...

Wait til the heat of competition kicks in and a program purposely spams their competition's site(s)...then the fun will begin......
...and wait til some simpleton opts in to an email list, gets hit with an offer and in a fit of white knuckle rage (probably because he's getting no pussy at home, the bills are piling up and he's found out his mother is really his father) and turns it into a Virgina law enforcement officer as spam...and that mailing happened to have gone out 10,000 other people... also, how does the person complaining prove that he didn't opt-in...is the burden of proof on the sender to prove it or the whiny bitch complaining? this is going to be a fun ride... |
They should do something about postal mail spam as well. Email you can just delete, postal mail is a waste of paper, plus I have to throw it away. Trash collection is not free, deleting unwanted email is free.
Just my opinion. |
And another problem is the fucking door hangers. Would that too not be spam. I do not want these advertisments on my door, or better yet, I do not want to have to pick them up from my yard when they blow off.

Okay so this is maybe one of the most confused things I have heard in a while. Basically they passed a law that includes the repossesion of any goods purchased with dollars that were acquired through spamming.
And what pretell will they do with the money and goods? Because certainly the goverment can't keep them as they were acquired through such a horrible industry!!!! And I am sure they will make GREAT efforts to return the money to its rightful owners. They seem to forget that the $$$ made came from people who accepted the spam! By that token we should then go out and reacquire all assets attained through promotional advertising on television, billboards, radio and all the othre mediums. I mean I don't ask to be hit with all the ads I see in a day...and they don't come with an unsubscribe link. I realize that some checks need to be put in place so that small children and uptight people dont' get the emails...but if they are that offensive just delete and move on...it is no different than changing the channel on your television set or throwing out the pages and pages of junkmail I get in my mailbox each morning. I get tonnes of stupid emails too, I just deletet them! It is that simple. I believe spamming is far more of a problem then it needs to be. It is just another medium for advertising...but you know that's just my humble opinion. Okay I'm done. |

First, a spammer is not gonna go to the same facility as some big crazy ****** serving life.
Believe it or not, prisons come in varying flavors. |
