There's no such thing as full automation where art is concerned. There's still a performer driving the digital performance, so I wouldn't see the point of using CG that looks real. Why not just shoot uhhh......real people fucking.

CG should be used in porn to make things that are stylized and fantastical.

I'm not sure what agenda $5 is on, but if he's posting about something it's something to investigate to the fullest. This dude knows more than 95% of you so-called wm's.

Still a bit of the uncanny valley for me. The lips don't look properly stretched over the teeth so it looks odd from a sideways angle.

Damn it's close though. Won't be long before this sort of thing will be available to everyone. How do you believe when it's so easy to manipulate or even create content from scratch?

A lot of the industry's attention is focused on VR currently... but it might be VIDEO GAMES' Machine Language graphics automation technology that might be bigger.

Currently, it's just rendering.... The next step is to turn the rendered "seed" data and turn it into movies

WHY?

If you can just film real people fucking, why bother to make fake people that look real fucking?

I think some people feel the cost of this technology will eventually get low enough that it will be more cost effective and overall easier to make movies this way.

The problem I have always had with most of this stuff is that even if it looks very real it feels like it lacks a soul.

Maybe someday they will get to the point where you can't tell the difference, but I think we are a long ways away from that still.

Once it gets good enough a new video might cost a few bucks worth of CPU/GPU time on a rendering cluster.

It also paves the way for bespoke videos, where the person ordering it gets to customize it exactly the way they want. Try doing that with real people.
