Content Only

How many of you just sell content? Are you making good $$$ with it?

I want to get into this but do not want to deal with memberships, chargebacks and the other crap that comes with running an adult site.

I am thinking of just selling content to other sites, pics and vid.

What type of content sells best?

Thanks for the advice.

I would guess teen content sells the most.

To adult webmasters I would think not to well, now to a calendar company and such it would do much better. But what do I know I never sold content. Basically just look at what the most popular niches are and that is what will sell the best, the smaller the niche the less the demand, but at the same time the more demand the more competition.

Content is a HUGE pain in the ass though.. As a content provider (especially when you shoot your own and now have custodial obligations to fulfill, this is NO small task), you have to worry about BOTH ends of the spectrum, as far as legalities. Consult a lawyer and find out where you stand before you consider making the leap. There is also a lot of competition from established content providers (the majority of whom are absolutely great), so it's not the easiest part of the biz to break into. Armed with legal advice, determination, and some cute models, you should be ok. As I say though, be sure that you're fully aware of where you stand legally before you venture into it :)

our amateur sets normally outsell everything else we have 3 times over.

sad part of the content biz is that while this industry is pegged at 1 BILLION a year, only a tiny percentage somehow winds up in content producers pockets.

Conservative guess is that 80% of all adult content on the Net is stolen.

Thanks everyone for the advice.

Damn, is there no cheap way to get into this business? Attorney fees, visa MC fees, shit, one can go bankrupt before they even start :-)

Keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks again.

as long as you make more putting your $$ in promoting crapsites than making quality sites that will remain. Maybe the future brings better times for Quality minded sods though...

There is no money in the adult Internet biz.

The simple answer is;

Bankruptcy, in bad content.

There is a fortune in good content.

Over simplified but the reasoning is simple.

If you can only shoot like 75% of the other content guys out there, who are still learning the meaning of the word porno. Then you are swimming in an over crowded pond. With fewer and fewer successful sites to sell to.

If you can shoot like the top 10% of content guys, then there is an enormous market for your product. Because the surfer who is prepared to pay for something good, notices the sites that buy it.

Common is easy to find and cheap, rare is priceless.

What if I only want to do softcore? Still think I can make a good living at it? And what would you suggest for equipment, digital or film? I think film with a good scanner will give better quality images... am I wrong? Or is there a good digital out there that is not too expensive that will take film quality photos?

Thanks.
