Think about the little girl on Roseannes show feels seeing that the old lady she works for thinks she looks like a monkey.

Imagine how degrading it would be going on set with an old lady that tweeted to millions of people that black people look like monkeys.

Instead of cancelling her show and fucking everyone involved they should just give her a big fine like they do for sports athletes.

It's not that she said it about one person. It is that she said it publicly. Had she said this on set or at a table read or something like that where it was only her co-workers that heard it, they might have tried to reprimand her and get her to apologize. Saying it online let's the world know you are saying something racist and that you may, in fact, be a racist. Immediately the show's co-runner's quit over this because they don't want to work with a racist. She had to go. Even she admits it was the wrong thing to do.

Also, there is a difference between commenting on someone's appearance and calling a black person a monkey. Referring to black people as monkeys has a long, dark history in this country. It's off limits in this country. You grow up in this country knowing it is off limits.

If you want to say some soccer player looks like an ostrich, that isn't racist because there isn't hundreds of years of racism behind that statement. Saying Serena Williams looks like an ape is racist because of said hundreds of years of history.

Viacom cancelled her reruns. Every weekday from 4-7 and Saturday from 8-4 it was on. Her pocketbook will feel this. And for others who get residuals, it’s gotta hurt.

I don't know if she is really a racist or not, but I don't believe for a second that she thought she was at the table with friends and not online. She had to type that tweet out and send it. I do feel sorry for the people who are going to lose money and jobs over this. It's all her fault. If I lost a bunch of residual checks because of this, I might consider suing her over it.
