Microsoft Surface, the tablet version with magnetic detachable keyboard!

CjTheFish 05-20-2018 11:12 AM

ASUS ROG series is outstanding.

this is the one I'm looking at. I'm not a gamer but know that a gaming laptop would multitask much better.

https://www.amazon.com/Dell-Inspiron...dp/B06XFGF7SN/

and I would get a single stick of 16gig ddr4 ram as it's expandable to 32 gig

Macbook pro with windows 10 on it.

I've used i7 since 2014 and wouldn't go lower.. 1.90 GHz seems slow when the one I looked at is 3.8 GHz. I mean are we looking for the cheapest laptop or the best one for a webmaster?

I bought an HP envy 17" i7 and it was one of the worst computers I have owned. Cost me like £1000 back in the day.
Now Own a much cheaper HP 15" that cost like £200. Much happier with it.

If you need something beefy for work, I'd go with an Alienware.

Yes, they're pricey, but are built like tanks and are essentially desktop replacements.

I've been regularly using one I bought in 2014 that has had 0 issues so far.

I use to swear by 17" laptops but now I hook my 15" into a 23" display with wireless keyboard and mouse.

I bought an ASUS ROG 17,3 inch and very happy.

I have a Surface Pro 3 and love it. It's a small PC disguised as a tablet.

I wouldn't mind having a Surface Book....

Check out Lenovo Thinkpad e580, I'm thinking of buying that one (it's little below $1K).

I heard that Intel published some update(?) a few months ago, or maybe it's not called an update, but apparently, their users have been complaining that they have experienced some issues, lower speed, etc... I am on an HP right now, but thinking about trying the world-famous Mac finally.

Paul&John 05-21-2018 07:34 AM

I would definitely check out some Xiaomi laptops too, their mobiles are pretty good especially regards price/power
