Child Protection Act Now Law

http://www.cnn.com/2003/ALLPOLITICS/...ber/index.html

Bush signed the Protect Act of 2003 into law today. You know the one talked about here a few weeks back where they tagged a bunch of Net-related law changes to the bill for the Amber Alert.

Jakke PNG 04-30-2003 05:24 PM

warning page mandatory?

Fletch XXX 04-30-2003 05:25 PM

what does or did Amber have to do with porn exactly? why do they tie the porn thing into this Amber Alert crap.

I cant wait for them to start running ads on the Amber Alert system, thats all its about anyway. Bush wants to target porn in anyway think.

California freeways are lined with these things, theyll be flashing Burger King prices in months, all in the nam,e of prosecuting child abducters?

go bush fight for the kids!

bullshit.

Honestly I'm not worried when they crack down on child porn, it gives them something to do.

The law is bullshit, just another huge taxpayer expense to make cops' jobs easier.

Pretty soon there will be a law that unless you leave your wallet at the scene of a crime you commit, you get the dealth penalty.

I think the simulated child porn stuff int he origianl law was bullshit, and the burder of proof has been shifted to the gov't so..this isn't so bad.

That thing about the wallet...I like that!

When it comes to "protecting the children," for some reason the burden of proof is quickly shifted to the accused. "When they come to take your rights away, they'll do so in the name of protecting the children" - Bill Maher

One of the few times I agree with Bill Maher.
