eBay Pricing

What happened to eBay? Prices are outrageous!

Jello Sugar Free Banana Cream Instant Pudding & Pie Filling Mix

$5.85

.09 oz box

Walmart sells these for $1.09. Shaw’s gets $1.39. A padded envelope is .69. Postage can’t be more than a buck-and-a-half at most.

Are there people who buy this at that price? If so, do they live in the woods, hours from a supermarket?

This seller has all flavors available, not just banana. I know sugarfree stuff is more money but to try to sell it for 400+% is ludicrous.

I looked at other things, too, like a new iPhone as I have the 5 and it works great. Just curious as to the price. $800. $659. Are they wacko?

I looked for a wheelchair backpack to carry my shopping bags, a snack, my hip cushion. $109 new plus $19.95 shipping. I bought the same one for $59 new with free shipping online.

Either these sellers think they’re selling unique items not available elsewhere or they’re greedy pigs who take advantage of the unknowing.

I bought my 1969 GTO on eBay from a seller in California. Had a friend check it out first. Paid in cashier’s check plus $3k to deliver to Massachusetts (in 2008). Got it, garaged it, a weeek later we went to see it. Good parts removed and replaced with aftermarket imitations. No recourse but to sue for $3,800 in parts. I won (a friend attorney represented me) and he had to pay. I sent eBay documentation proving he was dishonest and asking he be removed. They said he’s done many car sales with no issues so this was just an “error” on his part. He claimed the wrong pictures were posted. Didn’t matter he lied in email and on the phone.

He’s still an active seller with strong negative feedback like mine. They don’t boot him because they pull in cash from his listings. I can’t fathom why people buy from him after the bad feedback but maybe the good outweighs the bad, or he talks a good game.

I see lots of auction sites but none compare to eBay in size. A good, honest auction/sell site is needed.

Back in the day, items were half-the-price of stores. Now? Higher priced!

Minimum Ebay postage is 2.66 if not top rated, 10% less if top rated, that's for 1-4oz.

Postage 2.66
Ebay fees $0.59
Paypal $0.47

About $2.13 minus what they paid for the item and shipping supplies. Looks like a waste of time selling this item.

Not everybody has a Walmart nearby.

Amazon / Walmart are almost always way cheaper than E-bay for most stuff. E-bay is dead as far as bargains go.

Shipping is ridiculous unless free from Hong Kong

Not every product is available everywhere. If I *REALLY* want Doritos, I have actually ordered Doritos from the UK on several occasions at a cost higher then I would like to admit. We do of course have nacho chips in Poland, but not actual Doritos. I have my mom bring me Ketchup chips when she visits from Canada too. Impossible to buy in Europe at all. There are lots of products from specific brands or of a specific flavour that aren't always available everywhere in the world or even specific states.

I understand that. But these are USA sales I refer to! It’s sad you have to overpay for Doritos (Cool Ranch rock!) and must have to eat them fast before they expire. There isn’t a store that sells imported food or a web presence in Poland? If the market is there (buyers market) then you should capitalize on that. It’s not adult but there’s a need. Sell by showing how much $$$ they'll save in shipping. Seriously it sounds like a big hole you could fill.
