Wordpress and ImageMagick
 

Is somebody able to use ImageMagick/Imagick with WordPress ?

I've tried two plugins, they don't work. Nor with my own PHP. So I wonder
- if it's just me who don't yet have found the way to use it,
- if I don't have the correct version of Imagick on my server or
- if there's some incompatibility between WP and Imagick.

are you suggesting that it won't work on latest wordpress 4.9.5? it works just fine.

No, but it just shows that it is not going to be maintained or supported in the future. Plugins also need to be updated frequently for security reasons. Just my two cents.

for what purpose do you use ImageMagick?

I fully agree with j3rkules about any plugins not updated from 3 years.

Plug-in says ImageMagick is installed as on this screenshot

but it doesn't sharpen my Wordpress thumbnails as many TGPs software were able to do it.
