Bush signing that misleading domains law today
Don't forget to update your mainstream domains redirecting to porn sites today.
The redirect party's over. That was a pretty good run for a lot of webmasters. :ak47: |

But if you have servers in the US, or offices in the US, or domains registered through a US registrar, or process through a US processor, I imagine if they want to fuck with you they can and will. We'll know when the crackdown begins. Because I'd bet a million that WhiteHouse.com will be the first to get popped by the Feds. :1orglaugh |
It will be interesting to see what happens when they go after the first one. Because the bill says its domains that mislead children to porn. White house .com doesnt really do that, donald duck spelled wrong would do that or other things kids like spelled wrong would do that or freecandy.com but not like thehun.com

Well tony, that's the game. Make the law as vague and open-ended as possible and let the courts decide. Govt. has a pretty strong case however you look at it, unforunately. Unfortunately, the real problem is parents who let their kids surf without supervision and who don't take steps to watch over what their kids do on the internet.
Another excuse for bad parenting. |
Yeah I'm sure whitehouse.com is the first to go! Suprised the White House and the federal government didn't just pay any price to get that domain name from who ever owns it!
