Exactly. I think a good chunk of people that buy these buy them as status symbols or for the cool factor and they don't really give a shit about the supposed environmental benefits.

To me it's a bit like having a Rolex. If you are lucky enough to be in the position of owning a Rolex, you just wear it... Perhaps you might lean on the bar with that hand, or let the sleeve ride up slightly in the presence of some ladies, but that's OK. Its subtle, discreet and a 'tasteful' flaunting of wealth...

That number plate on the car is the equivalent of the guy with the Rolex walking down the street, in a t-shirt, holding one arm in the air and screaming at the top of his lungs: "EVERYONE LOOK AT ME ! IVE GOT A FUCKING ROLEX!!! LOOOK AT ME AND MY ROLEX"

So why have the license plate then? Its obviously not necessary, and in the UK its very expensive to have a vanity plate - Not like in the US where you can have whatever's available for a few extra bucks

Technology what? Electric motor is older than the combustion one. So what technology? Ahh you mean batteries.. cool.. But it still takes me just two fuckin minutes to pump diesel in my car to run 800 km :1orglaugh:1orglaugh Go, beat that :winkwink:

...not to mention that TESLA has the fugliest interior I have ever seen, basically just a fuckin huge LCD panel and they call that design? For $100k? A big fuckin lol..
