Housemate moving out and seems to think everything is his!

It's killing me. He's trying to take all of my pots and pans. !@#$ Errr. I'm sure he's accustomed to using them, and they were new but are worn down to hell now.. BUT THEY AREN"T HIS!@#@#$

:helpme

Cheers,
Matt

Yo Adrian 04-29-2003 01:29 PM

That's why I've never had roommates

KRL 04-29-2003 01:31 PM

Had the same when my ex's moved out.

I learned to take a good inventory and hide the good stuff ahead of time. Or just hang by the moving truck and take it out of the boxes when they go back in for more.

:1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

Nysus 04-29-2003 01:31 PM

I wish I didn't have to have one. He is a good / best friend... but our relationship was and is definitely being pushed. He just doesn't care, which makes me feel even worse. I just have to get over it. :(

Cheers,
Matt

Can't be that good of a friend if he's trying to walk off with all your stuff.

I had a roommate try to do that to me back in '85.... came home and the fucker had cleaned me out. I tracked his ass down at the college he was going to, and beat his ass right there in the class. Then I had the cops drag his ass back and return my shit.

the fucker even took the goddamned cheese outta the fucking fridge!

well he brought it all back. :glugglug

LeeNoga 04-29-2003 02:28 PM

lover or just financial roomie? There is more to this story.

Mr. Jim 04-29-2003 02:31 PM

I just moved into a new place and a friend said he was looking for a room to rent so i said sure why not. It has been a week and a half and he has just informed me he will be short on rent for the first.

I figured short is 75-100 bucks. He is short $500!

He then immediately asked if he could hit me on the first of the next months for the utilities.

Not looking good

Roommates suck (I'd imagine).
I live with a girl, but I have no problems if we break up. I own everything, the appartment, the furniture and naturally the pans and pots. :) She has nothing but 1/4 of my clothingstorage at her disposal. Been like that for over 3 years, wouldn't have it any other way. lol. I'm a bitch, I know.

It was just the opposite with me and my ex-husband. Everything belonged to me...all the bastard had to his name was his clothes and CDs. And he had the nerve to ask me to pack his stuff for him when he informed me he was leaving me.

I threw all of his shitty jeans and t-shirts and techno CDs into garbage bags and left them on the front porch...I was hoping the neighbor's dog would drag his crap all over the place and slobber on it...:BangBang:

Two years ago when the triad I was in broke up in a spectacularly festive, violent way, our ex tried to take a bunch of our shit with her, too. And she was really bitchy about her stuff, in a weird way. For example, the day we broke up, the boy and I went out to do grocery shopping...when we came back, the whole house was dark downstairs.

She'd taken every single fucking lightbulb out of all of the downstairs fixtures because she'd paid for them. And the next morning, when I was making breakfast for the kids like I usually did -- putting two pieces of toast into each of the two toasters on the counter -- she came in, took the bread out of her toaster and threw the bread on the floor, and went back upstairs with her toaster, never saying one single word to me.

Pyscho bitch from hell...:1orglaugh

sternyduke 04-29-2003 03:00 PM

stand up and be a man and tell him that it's your shit....geeez.

Hehe a buddy of mine from back in Toronto called me today and told me he was interested in moving out to Vancouver. But he was wondering if I wanted a roomate.

I told him no way. I will never have another roomate unless it is my wife/girlfriend. I've done the roomate thing before with friends and the relationships always go south. No matter how good friends you are there always things that will piss you off about the other person.

My advice if you can afford it is live on your own.

My first roommate moved out when I was out of town. She basicalyl left her room with about 10 bags of trash in it, took everything she wanted, everything I would have wanted, took my CHRISTMAS TREE and angel, and left the state.

No more roommates!

Fletch XXX 04-29-2003 03:08 PM

kick his ass.

if you lose slash his tires.

Steve 04-29-2003 03:11 PM

I doubt you have high priced pots + pans (most people dont), so give the crappy ones to your buddy and go get some new ones. You can probably get new dishes, silverware, too all for like $200

HOLY shit! $500?!:eek7

I pay $600/mo for a 1700 sqft 3 bedroom HOUSE! But then again.....I live in Tennessee. Cheap cost of living is equaled only by the lack of education, intelligence, and open-mindedness.

Sheeeeit...when I was younger I'd crash on someone's couch till I overstayed my welcome.

When they asked me to leave I'd get a few box's and start packing up their stuff and moving it out.

Then, when they asked me what I was doing I'd punch them in the face and call them a racial slur that didn't apply to their race.

I can think of some uses of pots and pans that might change his mind (and give him some lumps on his head at the same time!).

Snake Doctor 04-29-2003 09:11 PM

My G/F (ex now) is moving out right now and I'm going through the same shit.
She came in here with her parents and packed everything up in boxes. She's staying with her parents until she comes to get all of her shit this Saturday.
I guess she feels that since she got dumped and thinks she's owed something she'd pack up a bunch of shit that's not hers. So I took the liberty of going through all of her boxes and taking out the shit that was mine to begin with.

What's funny is there's a couple of things missing that she took with her the first go round, and when she called to tell me when she was coming to get the rest, I informed her that she better have that handful of missing items in her hand if she wants me to let her in to get her stuff.
To which she replies "FINE, I DON'T CARE ABOUT THE STUFF, I'LL JUST BUY MORE"
and I'm thinking, if you "don't care about the stuff" why'd you try to steal it in the first place?

Oh well, its like this

Refund of her portion of the deposits: $400
Price of a moving van: $150
2 new deadbolts to change the locks: $60

Knowing that the bitch is finally gone: PRICELESS

:Graucho
