After over 7 years of being a slave to Xanax I have decided to get off the shit! I am no Xanax free for 4 days and counting! For those who are also hooked let me fill you in on my withdrawal symptoms...

Violent Nightmares
Tremors
Sensitivity to light
Dizzy
No energy


Your not actually just supposed to stop taking it but that's how I stopped smoking so I figure I will give cold trukey a try :thumbsup

Well I was givin Xanax by the military after I punched some pimple faced Burger King employee for being a smart ass.. They said I had an anger problem.. I think there full of shit and can keep the shitty meds! :thumbsup

Cold Turkey...not a good idea... 5-7 days after cutting yourself off you can go into grand-mal seizures. Happened to me and I was only taking them for 3 months before I stopped. (I had a pill pushing Doctor) and otherwise I'm a very healthy person.

Well, I felt flu-ish for 3-4 days, felt good for 2 and bamn on the 6th day I was on the floor seizing. What you are doing isn't smart.

Back then.... I didn't have the knowledge that you should ween and not go cold turkey otherwise I wouldn't have put myself through that... If this is the way you choose to go, I do wish you luck and hope you aren't in the 50% that is subject to convulsions. You really should contant your Doctor.

Xanax is suppose to be for short term anixety. ( about 2 weeks )

Your doctor should have put you on paxil or prozac for long term aniexty for about 6 months..

You'll probably become depressed for a while as well. Your body produces a brain chemical that makes you feel happy. When you take pills like your taking it will actually stop your body from producing this chemical since your taking it orally. When you stop taking the pills your body wont start producing that chemical right away so you will become somewhat depressed for a while.
