Google has power to make or break

Google has the power to make you or break you in adult or mainstream internet.
Since September 2002, I had been buying up expired domains already listed in Yahoo and Google as a huge part of my strategy. Well I am sure hundreds of webmasters were doing this same thing, so Google decided in Feb/Mar update to Penalize expired domains which hit me real hard. So I started fresh immediately. and I have climbed back to top rankings for a few of my search terms which are the most competed for adult keywords like .
For the right offer, I may consider sharing my system since I am in a temporary situation

hahaha

some of us were saying this entire time!

Google even warned people months befotre saying dont buy bad domains or expired ones and everyone kept doing it.

the smart ones didnt pile onto the sinking ship.

andi_germany 04-29-2003 12:25 PM

I think Google is getting more and more worthless. I am switching to other services because I cannot find shit using google. I am getting at least 2 pages of bs before I actually find what I am looking for.

Google is the God of internet.

I love people who claim they can teach you to get top rankings in search engines so you can make a lot of $$ - and they're trying to SELL the information.
Umm... why not use the information yourself and make *yourself* lots of $$ if your method is so good?

google is still key...from my point of view, it is the cheapest cleanest traffic we can get...googleitup

rooster 04-29-2003 01:03 PM

I wish google didnt have such a monopoly. Its basically the only game in town and if you dont have traffic from them , then the only option is pay per click.

I wish a bigger se would start using the alltheweb results.

Too bad Google will most likely remain, and noone will even compete with Google.

Reminds me of M$oft.

Because they know more than you do and they can do a much better job than you can. It's not as easy as taking the information and do the job. Got it?

Dildozer 04-29-2003 02:34 PM

bah expired domains used to rule
Even if google got rid of them, they're still good, i get some nice inktomi traffic and altavista traffic from some of these domains. So it's not all lost.

this business changes soooooo
fast, I don't think Google will stay the king, which they dam sure are right now. Myself I'm not to fond of there page ranking Tech. Who know what the next hot thing will be, with search engines?
Who knows who the next search engine king will be? Yahoo with some of there purchases? Right now about the only one that can take on Google.

First of all I am not selling off any domains, and second of all it is very easy to verify my top rankings right now.

Well - every other index is complete shit and you won't get ANYTHING from the others.

Google certainly has some major obstacles to overcome - but they are still the best.

Their first goal was to come up with a superior ranking technique - next step for them is figuring out how to fight off every fuckwit search engine spammer on the face of the planet.

hyper 04-29-2003 03:58 PM

why did it hit you hard?

they cant penalize you from your previous expired domains
its only the current expired domains that matter.

it's only the current zone files they use

Brujah 04-29-2003 06:31 PM

This is not true. Expired domains are not dead by a long shot and google isn't penalizing exactly. They've said they would reset the links so that old links don't count toward pagerank. If you don't know what to do with the domains you pickup, it's not going to be a big surprise if they get penalized. People automatically assume it's because they have an expired domain, and don't look for the other reasons. I just checked one of my PR7 pickups, and it's got a PR6 now but it's still listed and doing what it needs to do.

Sorry Hyper, I had expired domains I bought in nov, dec 2002 that had pr 5 when I got them plus I built up links to them afterwards. The feb/mar update all links and pr shit canned for the majority of my expired and the ones they missed that update, I was like ok they missed these pr 5 expired domains, thats cool they shit canned all the links to those in the mar/april update even the ones I had built after purchasing. But no use crying about spilled milk, I started march 1 with my non expired and new domains and I will be back on top soon.........
