At this point, it is pretty clear. Trump can do or say pretty much anything he wants and his base will not stop supporting him. Scandals that would have killed other presidents just roll off this guy like water on a duck.

The bigger question isn't how it affects his base, we all know they will turn out to vote for him and/or Republicans, but it is how much this energizes the left's base and younger voters. By creating enthusiasm on the left, he could be killing Republican's chances in future elections.

It doesn't affect his base at all because since day 1 the media has ran bogus story after bogus story, and at this point I'm pretty sure even most of the Trump haters even doubt the stories.

You would be wrong about Trump haters. Trump has done a brilliant job of convincing his base that if it is a story they don't like, it must be fake news. The media has gone after Trump, like nobody else, but he brings most of this on himself.

His base thinks it is fake, or they don't care. The Trump haters believe most of the stories and continue to hate him. He will have to do something major to turn that around and he doesn't seem to have any interest in that at all. At this point, he and the Republicans seem less interested in doing things that are good for the country than they are doing things that will piss off liberals. It's a bold strategy. We will see how it works out in about 11 months.
