LAPD Launches Sexual Assault Investigation Against Steven Seagal


"The 65-year-old actor has been accused by more than a dozen women of sexual misconduct."

Several women, including actresses Portia de Rossi, Julianna Margulies and Rae Dawn Chong, have recently accused Seagal of sexual harassment. In a November tweet, de Rossi claimed Seagal ?unzipped his leather pants? during an audition in the actor?s office. Margulies said Seagal had attempted to sexually harass her in his apartment when she was 23, and Chong accused Seagal of once showing her ?his junk? in his hotel room and leaving her multiple ?sex messages? on her machine.

A woman named Regina Simons, who worked as an extra on the 1994 film ?On Deadly Ground,? which starred Seagal, told The Wrap this month that the actor raped her at his home.

Simons, who was 18 at the time, said she?d believed she was attending a wrap party for the film ? but when she arrived, discovered she was the only one there.

?[Seagal] took me into this room and then just closed the door and started kissing me,? Simons said of the alleged incident. ?He then took my clothes off and before I knew it he was on top of me, raping me. ? I wasn?t sexually active yet. People always talk about fight-or-flight. But no one talks about the freeze.?

According to The Wrap, more than a dozen women have accused Seagal of sexual misconduct.

Representatives for Seagal did not immediately respond to HuffPost?s requests for comment.

First: is ANYONE surprised that Seagal is a slime ball? No. I mean c'mon, STEVEN SEAGAL.

Second: WTF were these actresses doing in his apartment or hotel room? OK the rape allegation is horrible but once the 18 year old sees it is not a wrap party she must leave and not allow herself to be led into a room and undressed. Or how about not go to this party alone?

All I am saying is, these locations are where most of this shit goes down. Sure, it happens in offices but even then the response should be: storm out, scream so everyone can hear you "He just pulled out his cock!" then run to the cops. But no, more worried about fame, stardom, their career so they put up with it. This allows it to go on. Part of the reason few people were not speaking out is that there was a culture of bashing those who did. Ask Rose McGowen how speaking out worked out for her. It needs to be a two-way street. Women (or men if they are victims) need to speak out and people need to take them seriously when they do.

Oh I agree 100%! But it's like with the Sylvester Stallone allegation. The girl (under age at the time) sneaks away from her family, goes to Stallone's hotel room and fucks him. She only gets upset when Stallone brings in his bodyguard and wants her to do them both that she felt uncomfortable and later complained. If it was just Stallone then she never would have said a word.

My point is there are star fuckers out there, and actresses who will do anything to get a role. Women are way more competitive than men so if they get anywhere near a powerful man they pounce. Not saying they want sex but rather use their attractiveness to get close to the power man and use it to get what they want. When it goes too far or to a place they don't want they freak out. Except for in-office and on=set incidents most of these women are in the wrong place at the wrong time then act offended when something turns sexual. Nobody said that particular incident was rape. Sexual assault is being a 46 year old man and putting your hands on the tits of a 16 year old girl without permission.

Why are you defending this man who has decades of sexual assault claims and settled lawsuits against him?

I'm not saying these women don't sometimes put themselves in situations where bad things can happen. I'm just saying, when they do, we shouldn't be discounting them because of the situation.

Say one afternoon you are out somewhere and you meet some super hot, famous actress, say Jennifer Lawrence. As for going to guy's hotel rooms and such, I get that too, but you have to understand that Hollywood isn't like most businesses. Many deals get done in hotel rooms, or at private residences etc. When I lived in LA and worked in that industry I would say at least a third of the pitch meetings/production meetings I went to were at someone's house. So it's not like having a meeting at a house or hotel room is a rare thing.

We are actually in total agreement here. When an incident happens the actress should feel 100% safe to report it but we both know that doesn't happen. I lived in LA for three years so I know Hollywood, too. A BIG step in stopping this kind of shit is to STOP having meetings at homes, hotel rooms, etc. There should be nothing discussed there that couldn't be discussed over coffee in a public place. And if actors want to work together on scenes etc then there should be an attempt to do that in a place that's private but easily escapable so the actress doesn't feel trapped or coerced.

The only 'cure' for any type of lewd and gross behavior is to pour light onto it and watch the cockroaches run for cover. :)
