Weed & Atkins Diet
I'm on the Atkins Diet, and its working well for me.
I've not smoked for a while, but wanna know if its gunna fuck up the Atkins Diet if i do? [yea, i'm no bio-medcine person :)] Theres talk about not having any caffeine/stimulants, so i was thinking it might mess it up. Anyone got an opinion on this? |
no.
thc will not make your body produce glucose the way caffeince does. enjoy. |
Just eat horse meat and you will not need these fucking diets... :Graucho :Graucho :Graucho

sucks when you get cravings for something right after you've smoked.. gotta go cook up some meat or eggs, no quick munchies
|
try these for your munchies...
http://www.universal-zone.com/enter/...d.cfm?prod=329 if you really like the solid chocolate.. try these http://www.universal-zone.com/enter/...d.cfm?prod=330 you can get them at most Whole food markets or nutrition stores... also you can get them cheaper by searching for them on google... i've seen them for about $27 per box... they taste awesome and work perfect for munchies... :thumbsup |
Thanks Fletch, nice to have an expert's opinion :Graucho

I've done Atkins twice. Both times I lost the same amount (appx 30lbs in 7 weeks). One time I drank coffee like crazy, the other time I was caffeine free. Caffeine made no difference for me. Same with aspartame. It's all about the carbs. |
the book says it can mess up your blood-sugar levels, and can leave to cravings.
I dunno about the biomedical stuff that weed does to you, but i guess it could promote cravings. Just have to get so fucked i passout and miss the munchies ;) |
shit, i dont have much food in my house.. im too lazy to do the dishes to be able to cook, but anyway.. whenever i've smoked 3-4 bowls i want food so bad.. i'll eat peanut butter out of the jar, and the bEST food to eat while high are "Munchies". Its a mixture of pretzels, doritos, cheetos, and something else i think... so fucking good.

Isn't he the one who just died from falling down and hitting his head? Wonder if HE was on weed at the time, just savoring his senses and not really watching where he was stepping?

I've been on Atkins for 5 weeks now (smoking herb non-stop) and have lost 35lbs so far. I've got another 10 lbs till I hit my goal, and have no worries about loosing them... Atkins works... and FAST! Get yourself some caffeine free Diet Dr. Pepper and some sugar free gummy bears and you shouldn't have a problem fighting those sweet cravings too. Good luck man, it's easy to loose them once you get started.:thumbsup |
isnt that the diet that gives you terrible breath?

Someone will probably find a link with some side-effects or warnings (babies born with 15 heads?), but so does everything else and it's probably the best artificial sweetener among all the alternatives. |

where do you think the energy comes from? Some people react to the actual chemical of caffeine (methylxanthine) which is why caffeine causes headaches and restlessness among many. |

That's essentially what the Atkins diet does. Once the body is deprived of all sugars (carbs), it must burn fat to produce glucose. Caffeine is bad (according to Atkins) because it may stimulates some people's insulin mechanisms. This tricks your body into thinking it has extra blood sugar (it doesn't actually have extra blood sugar), and then you get the subsequent fatigue and cravings - everything the Atkins diet is designed to fight against. I have found this isn't true with me. |
<a href=http://www.pe2000.com/caffeine.htm>How Caffeine Affects Your Body</a>
15. Causes your adrenal glands to release their hormones into your bloodstream 16. Causes blood sugar, or blood glucose, to be released from storage through the effects of the adrenal hormones. i said, caffeine as a stimulant causes the body to 'produce,' i guess i should have said 'release' glucose instead. :winkwink: |
