here are some of my thoughts...

on deep stuff... (but, why is it that they are so deep, and hidden? is it because we've grown peering through a blindfold by society that makes the everyday shallow materialistic matters the focus?)

anyways....

i think we can all agree that we are never truly "unique". growing up in any society, especially america, we are all programmed from day one. hell, most of our own uniqueness is hardly unique, its still all the product of society...

so with that said...

whos to say what is right, and what is wrong. first, to limit the size of this rant, lets focus in on sex, since this is an adult board...

the physical aspect of the process scientifically lines up to result in procreation. so it'd be reasonable to say the purpose of sex is to make babies + the physical/emotional benefit. therefore, it'd also be reasonable to say that when a person uses birth control, or a condom, they're unnaturally altering the process. but why is it that most people do it for the sexual intensity, rather than the idea of procreation? could it be because society has molded our perception of sex into the idea that if it feels good, do it? or is it because it is human instinct?

its a bit of both... society has given sex so much attention that it focuses on the attraction aspect, so people fail to recognize that attraction is there for the purpose of allowing the natural process of procreation.

with all of that said... it might just be true that our sexual behaviors have been programmed into something unnatural by society.

the end. (i know, its a bit late for this stuff, but im bored)

Why does TiVo always need 30 minutes to download extra content at 4:00am ? prime tv viewing moments wasted.

1) Ethics makes no sense without absolutes. In other words, there is no right and wrong unless there REALLY is right and wrong. A coherent ethic can't be built on relativism, no matter what the psychologists and sex therapists et all would wishfully think.

2) Sex is procreational...granted. However, our closest evolutional kin, the bonobo (look quite a bit like a chimp and in fact are called pygmy chimpanzees) fuck and perform oral sex for fun day in and day out, so perhaps that is the lot of our branch of the evolutionary tree.

true true... but...

that's the curse of higher intelligence. the more aware of yourself andyour life and your surroundings you become, the more able you become to exploit instinct. the most basic of animals would never have sex unless they were trying to procreate but humans and high-level monkeys are far more self-aware...

and so we take it and make it something for enjoyment or some other kind of experience. so i think that's a side effect. we use our higher awareness and intelligence to "improve" upon basic instinctual actions.
