a big 'wow' about some models...
 

I had a conversation with a model I shooting the other day. I was showing the young woman the 'composition errors' in some Boudoir Photography online.

I showed her all the orphaned and chopped body parts so common in today's porn, the weird intrusions, the strange contorted angles. I explained about the visual access being blocked by fist and knees. the fist is not sexy nor is a 'hard glob of boney flesh' at the COI of an image really that fucking attractive. just saying.... you know?

and as I did I explained to her why I directed her the way I do, when shooting stills and video. I also showed her how she was limiting the best possible options in the photography by her possing. she listened to everything I said.

she hit me up last night and told me she has been looking through all of her modelling pics with the 'eye or information' I had given to her...

just fucking wow!!!!!.... some girls are truly amazing, this is the first time in over 17 years of porn shooting. some girls are naturals like Anna Foxx, but most aren't.

oh yeah, I also showed her why some pics are B&W :1orglaugh

it's pretty simple. are all the body parts accounted for? is the model present and attentive to the lens? are the lines and contours of the image flowing smoothly? basic composition 101 :2 cents:

I see many images with the model's parts 'pointing' in 3 directions. and the 'u turn' is kinda of interesting, the models tell me they really find the 'u turn' unconfrontable. then the sausage posing is a bit bizarre to me... and one I like to call the gieco! with the hand on the front of the thighs, fingers displayed, elbows tucked in... looks like a fucking tree lizard to me :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

Shows that model barrier is pretty low if such a normal thing warrants wow reaction. Any moderately curious person would do something like that, imho. Or maybe I overestimate people.

the next 101 in photography is identifying the product and then creating clear visual lines to access the COI... very basic. :2 cents:

after that, it's just a matter of balancing the contrast to frame the drama, so the story can live... even more basic :2 cents:

to my mind the posing in porn as reached 'an iconic' position in the public mind. all iconic sports positions are easy to spot... blowing, golf, baseball, basketball... the posing is actually captured motion... this is what creates the iconic value
