If you Could Invest One Coin for the Future What Would be it?

Like if you thought 2022-2025.
Which one of the available coins would you bank on right now,

This can include BTC, ETH, XRP, IOTA, BCH, DGB, BTM, LTC, DGB or any other including but not limited to NAGA and that other one that was mentioned the other day but I seem to have forgot.

Please explain the underworkings of each coin. Judging by the graphs of BTC, ETH, and LTC only... I would say ETH solely because I think it will be the next to break out of this consolidation range it's been within.

TheDynasty 12-10-2017 07:14 PM

for future investments Litecoin & Ethereum

There are a lot of copies all trying to piggyback off the back of bitcoin however there are a few that are genuinely different. Like IOTA and Ethereum.

1. Bitcoin, get dividends with BCH/BCD/BTG and lots more upcoming (dividends from forks)
2. Monero, privacy, which seems like will be a huge thing in the near future
3. Litecoin, quicker and good for smaller transactions

every other coin mentioned in this thread cannot compare, much less devs, and less potential imo.

all you really need to know about these forks, is a new shitty altcoin will get credited to your account, that you can use to sell for more bitcoin, or sell for free usd/euro

I have a question.

I have held ETH for ages. Did it fork and how can I find out if I have another form or ETH?

Then how to exchange it?

jscott 12-11-2017 03:21 PM

if you holding ETH in myetherwallet you can check your free tokens in "token balances"

rogue, lookup
BCH - for 1 BTC we hold, we got 1 free BCH (now worth $1300'ish per 1)
BCD - for 1 BTC we hold, we got 10 of these, (was $90, now worth $35ish)
BTG - for 1 BTC we hold, we got 1 of these, (was worth $300 - 500ish)

etc etc

So if a coin forks, they are issued automatically?

I held bitcoin and got bitcoin cash when it forked.

Actually getting it was so easy.

jscott 12-11-2017 10:11 PM

depends on the exchange, if they are supportive of the forked coin or not, if yes, then they'll automatically credit your account

if you have on cold storage, trezor/ledger, they'll usually post blog instructions how you can get yours

if you hold on non supportive exchange, you'd maybe not get anything

anytime fork happening, and you wanty our coins, have to research and act accordingly, (move to supportive exchange, or cold wallet, etc) all risky and sometimes not worth it

What exchange do people suggest to buy some of the alternate coins mentioned here?

A fork is like a clone of an existing coin that does something different, usually because a group of users are not happy with the development/marketing etc direction a coin is taking.

For example, Bitcoin Cash forked off Bitcoin [Core], because the developers of the latter are solving the "transaction crisis" by focussing on developing and integrating a complex second layer technology called Lightning, whereas Bitcoin Cash simply raises the block size limit to allow more transactions to fit into each block.

With a fork, generally all transactions (and held balances) up to the fork point are shared by both coins. After the fork the blockchains become different. Like a straight road that splits into two, with each going off in different directions... except you can go down both :)

I am learning that there isn't a catch all exchange. You have to research and do it that way.
Like, I was looking at DENT based on the suggestion above but you can't get it on any exchange I currently use, only hitbtc. I presume as it grows in popularity it will be added to additional exchanges.
