WinXP Messenger Service - WHAT THE FUCK
 

I keep getting insane amounts of "Messanger Service" popups (built into XP) from random asshole advertisers. I leave the connetion up overnight and wake up to 30 more...any way to disable this? Anybody else getting the same shit?

so how long did it take you to find that link in Google? and why did you waste that much time doing it for someone who isn't mentally handicapped?

i just find it funny that 'everyone' on this board tries their best to get googles attention, but so many dont even know how to use it.

PS: Why bother looking anywhere when people here will give the answer within a matter of minutes.

because google gives you the answer faster.

*shrug* I didn't mind typing up a quick post where I got a response in 2 minutes - lazy way out, and it works every time.

dude, it isn't the lazy way out.

typing "www.google.com ENTER" and then "disbale messanger service ENTER" would have been a lot quicker and less work.

not to mention, you wouldn't be explaining your actions an hour later

Windows Messenger Service cannot be disabled

I got those too and didn't know what the fuck it was. I thought someone had managed to install some program on my computer. I came to GFY and posted about it and everyone helped me out.

I can't believe windows leaves that set to on for the default setting.

Win98 and ME don't have Messenger spam.
