Could be an issue with their check processor....I know most people don't still use checks but in some cases they are the best option

From Verotel Management:
Some banks Verotel works with, under which Bank of America, have recently earmarked some checks and payments as "related to transactions of the adult industry", and because of this reason Bank of America bounced these checks or returned the payments. Adult industry payments are seen by some US financial institutions as sources of “money laundering” and/or “terrorist financing”. Verotel – as a licensed financial institution in the Netherlands – fully disagrees with this opinion. Within the European legal framework Verotel has its own obligations to verify the source and destination of your funds, but clearly this process is not accepted by some US banks. As Verotel has tens of thousands of merchants providing adult entertainment services we decided to phase out from Bank of America earlier this month. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you and we will issue a new check or payment for the full outstanding amount if you had a bounced check from BOFA. Verotel may be able to compensate all extra costs that your bank or financial institution may have charged you cashing checks or receiving payments. Please rest assured that there are many other US banks and financial institutions available to provide your Verotel payment on time. Once our payment support department has all the information it needs it will issue a new US check or payment. |

They have thousands of merchants, been around for two decades and never missed a single payment ever... |
This is really messed up!

Sorry guys, I was away until Wednesday this week and have been playing catchup. Sorry for not checking in on GFY. We are still here and going strong! :2 cents:

Bank Of America is a bunch of cunts.
Use Chase. :) |
Just an update...Verotel support has contacted me and they are telling me it is indeed BOA that has closed their account due to them being related to the adult industry. (ridiculous) To all those supposed adult webmasters on here supporting a right wing government you should probably give your head a shake but that is a story for another day.
Looks like Verotel will be working with me to make sure all payments are reissued and have offered to cover bank/wire fees. I will update this thread again when this is complete. Just a suggestion to Verotel though...you guys need a presence on social media. I can't think of another company I work with that I can't just hit someone up on skype and get things sorted out right away. You guys were obviously aware of this situation before any of the webmasters. The fact that it took almost 24 hours of me sweating my balls off before getting a response is too bad. Anyway, all seems well with Verotel overall...I will update when I have the money in my account. |

CCBill uses Bank of America (or did before we switched from wire to ACH).
Not saying BoA is against adult, but there could be more at play here than simple 'reputational risk'. Possibly a combination of Verotel processing for adult and being a foreign-owned company plus sending tons of payments on a regular basis may have pinged BoA's risk management in a bad way. |
we have a couple hundred sites using Verotel and i haven't heard any complaints. this sounds like an accounting issue not a "holy fucking shit another biller is dead" issue.

Another returned check this week...thought the issue was solved

Instead of check....
Ask Verotel to wire transfer/e-send payments to your bank. Electronically shove the payment up the bank's ass. |

When it comes to payments on time, Verotel is 99.9% perfect for me in the last 10 or so years.
|
I thought this was a bumped post from years ago.
Also lost with money with Verotel. Run! |
I am with Verotel for almost 10 years, Verotel have NEVER MISSED a weekly payment..:thumbsup
|
Its not a missed payment its a bounced check...most of the comments are totally irrelevant
Seems they sent out another BOA check, today in the mail I got a batch of new checks with the new banking info. Hopefully this is the end of the issues. I am not accusing Verotel of scamming anyone, there have been issues with CHECK PAYMENTS due to their banking relationships |
I have been with Verotel since year 2011 and no issues! :thumbsup
|
been using them for 13 years now & no issues either. they sent out an email regarding the BoA account closure telling you not to deposit those and new checks were coming.
|
Yes if anyone has any trouble with old BOA checks and did not see the email we sent and cashed them, please send an email to [email protected] and our payments team will resend them and compensate you for any bounced check fees.
