An actor and filmmaker that's appeared in many popular movie and TV projects throughout the years has revealed that he's an undocumented immigrant. Bambadjan Bamba says he's stepping forward now in an effort to show that not all undocumented people are criminals.

Bamba has played parts in high-profile film projects such as "Suicide Squad" and "Black Panther." He's also done a lot of work on TV series such as "SEAL Team," "The Good Place," "The Following," "The Sopranos" and many more. Now, he's come forward to The Los Angeles Times to spread awareness in the wake of the Trump administration looking to end Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), which president Obama's administration created in 2012.

"Immigrants are not criminals," Bamba told the outlet (via the NY Daily News). "We're not here to take away your jobs. We're here to give back. We're not just Mexicans or Latino. We're black, too."

"We're from the Middle East, from Asia, too," he continued. "We're your neighbors, your doctors, the teachers of your children, and sometimes we're on TV in your home, characters that you love. We're just one of you."

In a video he recorded for the outlet, Bamba explains that he was brought to the U.S. by his family when he was 10 years old to escape political turmoil in his home country of Cote d'Ivoire in Africa. After moving to New York City without any grasp of the English language in 1993, he turned to pop culture, TV and films to help him learn the language and assimilate into American society. He's now expressing his fears that an end of DACA could mean that he'll be separated from his daughter and forced to return, despite learning English and finding work.

Bamba can be seen next in Marvel's upcoming film "Black Panther."

Curious how he got hired without a social security number. Will the networks be fined for hiring illegals? How much didn't he pay in taxes? And, if he's an employed citizen who hasn't broken laws other than the obvious, has contributed to society and didn't get Welfare money, why not allow him to take the test and become a citizen? If illegals participate and help our country, don't live off the government, and are here for safety reasons, let them stay. Take the test, lecture other illegals to become legit, and we get other taxpayers contributing to our financial resources.

Why are dems so crazy about not having borders and just letting illegal aliens flood over. Serious question. I like Mexicans. I think most are hard working law abiding citizens but what's wrong with going about the proper legal channels to get here and properly vetting these people?

Dont bother going after the immigrants - go after the employers. Once you start fining/jailing employers for hiring undocumented workers you will see a fundamental shift in hiring practices. No jobs no illegal immigration...

This guy just basically told the govt that not only did he break the law, but all of those production companies have also violated immigration law.

i have been pushing for a national version of the employee sanctions law here in Az. not only employment landlords and business owners that are here illegally. the problem with the guy in my post is he has money and lawyers. trumps wife bought her way in.

To be fair, you can be against illegals and also hire them for your business. If you competition does that you can not simply lose edge based on principle.
You simply wish that NONE of the competition hired them.

Actually in California, under Business and Professions Code sec 17200 (unfair competition), you can sue a competitor who is using illegal workers for gaining an unfair competitive advantage over your business.

You dont get to break the law and have an unfair advantage.

It might also be possible for a non-illegal worker to sue an employer under PAGA (Private Attorney General Act) for violating the California Labor Code. Most business hire illegal worker because they know that the illegal worker will not challenge the employer or try to seek benefits or unemployment.
