Depfile's Bullshit DMCA Removals
I found a ton of my content on saff.cc and went to the fileshare host to get it removed. Sent a notice with all 400+ links to depfile.us and got a response the next morning saying it was removed. The links now say the content was blocked by the copyright holder.
Fast forward two weeks and I notice people are still thanking the uploader for sharing the videos. Using an anonymizer, I check the links and they work just fine. Turns out depfile's answer to DMCA notices is to simply block the reporter's IP, but leave the content up and downloadable. The other day, I had a copyright lawyer send them a nasty email and now the content seems to be removed for real. Just figured I'd give a head's up to others that might run into this problem. |
This is very interesting I will pass it on to my business affairs...thanks :thumbsup
