The New Firefox Update
What do you think?
Seems faster
a bit faster, but the layout sucks
Digging it,much faster
3x faster (it seems on LINUX)
I like it so far. |
looking good
People still use FF? I mean it's not as bad as IE, but....
It's very good except that tabs can no longer be placed at the bottom and for some reason uploading videos to Twitter makes FF use a ton of CPU (didn't happen with 56 and earlier).
- Ugly interface
- Possibly faster, but nothing is slow on my computer so its hard to tell - If you rely on plugins, say goodbye to many of the most useful ones. For me, pros don't outweigh the cons. If you're on Linux, you can easily downgrade back to 56 with all plugins intact and working. Download the deb (or it may already be located in /var/cache/apt/archives/) , open terminal, and enter Code:
sudo dpkg -i <deb name> |
my plugins died :( noscript waiting for the updated. i only use chrome for certain task. the new firefox is ok. taking out the bottom bar and properties tab a fucked up move.
Now I have to click on bookmarks.....meh.
Sites and programs change up design sometime just to be clever and often it sucks ass (as with Windows 8-10 for example). Pointless. |
Got tabs working on the bottom of the page.
https://github.com/Okamoi/UserChrome...r-Windows7.css (works on Windows 10 too) Create file called 'userChrome.css' and paste the above code linked in the above github site. Create a new folder called 'chrome' in your FF profile folder (find it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/wiki/userchrome). Restart FF and tabs should should now be at the bottom of the page *where they belong*. |

I've always liked tabs at the bottom regardless of browser. Windows task bar is at the bottom with tabs so why not your browser too? Top = menus, bottom = tabs is the way I've always had it. |
My biggest concern with firefox but other browsers as well how it have high CPU usage, tho depending on how powerful CPU is. On notebook with low specs it's like a running game not browser lol
i think I cunt a4d the New Firefox Update... :(
looks ok so far...
If you want to be a part of the Google ecosystem use Chrome
If you want to be a part of the Microsoft ecosystem use Edge (renamed IE) I replaced a lost add-on with a terminal command (partially) to view the headers sent to the browser. Mozilla's Firefox probably killed a lot of ad-ons with sloppy coding and now made them incompatible as a trade off for speed. Seems to me that the GUI interface is a progression (easily adapted to) but looks VERY square cornered. |
how do I change the blue tabs to be normal grey color?
That's weird my tabs are the default gray color. Maybe you added a theme that turned blue?

It's really faster, just needed to customize the layout a bit.

First day the blue tabs were annoying, now I seem to be getting used to them. The one thing I did need to fix though was to move my refresh button back to where it belongs :321GFY
still my 3rd browser option
I'm liking it. Faster and doesn't freeze. Though most of my plugins don't work - guess the they'll catch up before too long. Layout is kind of retro.
I use it. I have firefox on one browser and crome on the other! I thinks its faster!!!!!
Hardly use it.
i like the new looks.
I use FF only for testing, etc. Otherwise I haven't paid too much attention to what they are doing. I did read an article about it yesterday and the writer claimed to be a Chrome guy, but really liked the new FF.
Perhaps I should check it out. |

Agree ....So stupid with all these square black tabs...ugly as hell..and why you cannot get rid off the sites you have recently visited...imagine if my "boss" opened my computer....why do they always fix which does not need fixing :321GFY |

Well, I have found you can change the color scheme to grey to get rid of the dark tabs. (tools > add-ons > themes) By recently visited sites ,you mean those displayed when you open a new tab? You can edit that too - click the customize icon in top right corner. I have also moved the refresh icon next to the url bar, it used to be inside the bar before. |
If you think a web browser will make your internet surfing faster, you need to get a faster computer and/or internet. No web browser is going to make or break an internet experience hampered by a shitty ISP and computer.
